V1 is the speed beyond which takeoff can no longer be safely aborted.

However the captain, who had clocked 4,914 hours of flight time, passed all his training.

My god, if this dude had problems with the simulation, fire him on the spot...

This is not the greatest sig in the world, no. This is just a tribute.
Good lord, you'd fail an FAA checkride just for that and be grounded from charter/commercial operations.

Oh, this was that ATR that clipped the bridge and went into the river a while back... Crazy shit. I called that as an engine failure.

I don't understand how this was even possible. It's kind of hard to miss all the stall indications.

The captain kind of fails every aspect of pressure from training. Went they give him the job, i don't know.
