Except there are drugs that actually make you superior than your regular self. Drugs that allow you to better handle pain, drugs that allow you to be more focused, drugs that give you more energy, drugs that make your brain more chemically balanced.

Most people don't suffer from crippling side effects with ibuprofen or caffeine. For someone suffering from depression or other mental illnesses, there are drugs that will help them more than nothing would. For people without ADD/ADHD ritalin can become addicting, other side effects tend to be negligible.
