Why is a "warning" a 1 day ban?

Backstory: I got a one day ban from the serious forum.

I really don't mind, I mostly deserved it and it's only a day.

My only question is why is it called a warning if it's an actual ban?

Because of how the warning system works. Once you get a high warning level, you get banned automatically.

It's best to PM me about it, but fortunately this time I remembered and cleared the list out.

The warning is simply the name of the moderation system, a 0%, a 10% warning and a 30% warning are all still warnings but each indicates something different

0% is either slap on the wrist, tagging something for future reference or more frequently to send the serious board blacklist message - if the violation was just petty shit then it'll be that but a full on 10 page flamewar might come with some numbers.

10% is a formal warning, like 'don't be doing that lad' and can be described as a slap

30% is the threshold for a ban and upwards in terms of numbers just indicates how many days it will be.
