It's not a new thing and it's brought up a lot.
But it's not "everyone" it's small number of users who are toxic and set off others which then snowballs.

It's really just a case of dropping the axe on a few people for a test run to see how the community copes without their influence.

The angel agreed to trade a set of white wings for the head of another demon. Overjoyed, the demon killed one of his own and plucked the head right off its still-warm body.

Well a lot of people point out and basically say "hey noob they're joking". It still happens with me, but I do see how it can derail a topic especially if you try to add more content to a topic but people keep pointing out the op was joking and thus the thread dies.
