It's a vulnerability because it would allow users to basically delete and edit posts to their heart's content within their own threads, and that doesn't promote open discussion.
We're still talking about the punishments and Icy isn't finished drafting up the rules/explanation yet.
A moderator that only has powers in Gaming is still the best option
I know a 2 or 3 month ban might seem ridiculous, but games launch every 2-3 months. Someone could simply do this, get banned, and return just in time to ruin another game.

Because if he was going to get banned for a week based on his actions, his goal is accomplished. He ruined the game for people 3 days ahead of it's release. Reminder that deletion and locking permissions will likely never become a thing due to the potential of abuse, even when trimmed down to members who are less likely to abuse them.
Another reminder that board specific mods/monitors will never be a thing, such a limiting position isn't needed, especially not one caused by such an incident, maybe if we had the size but not how things are right now.

Posting malicious attacks or repeatedly harassing members will carry penalties ranging from a 10-20% warning for the first offense, to lite-bans of various lengths.
