I mean... I like that, too, but the trouble with that kind of system is that it wouldn't be very conducive to fluid discussion, and it may disincentivize some people from posting at all because the OP might take too long to look over the post.

I guess I'm looking at this in a more subjective sense, because I know for a fact I've been extremely active in my own thread that the "overlooking" of people's comments wouldn't slow it down too much.

We were already having derail problems with Challenger, that could've been completely avoided with this option.

It's not a perfect option I know.

I know, but at least the other people in the thread wouldn't be.

I'd rather know the entire MGSV plot 2 months ago if that meant no one else would have it spoiled for them.

It's a mitigation of the effects.

Lets take a moment, to say thanks to all of the mods who have to be exposed to spoilers in order to keep this place in check.

Lemon, I feel like you'd do a good job, but if it was in a similar case to a game you liked, the position might not look as appetising as it currently does.

Metal Gear was the only game I really cared about spoilers for, because I'm so invested in the story (like, ridiculously so. I study MG lore more than my school textbooks).

I don't care for spoilers on other games (though I'd rather them be avoided tbh), but you bring up a good point, Batch.

But if I was approached for the position, I'd do it if it meant better regulation in Gaming.

I think Verb should be a mod there. One thing I like Verb for is he's not afraid to mince words and be blunt about what he means.

A quality that can get you a lot of hate, but seeing as I do the same thing, it's something I appreciate. I know mods who are way too nice on other forums and it's fucking annoying.

And the fact that he's immune to spoilers, by being blunt.....he doesn't like many games that much, especially more recent games, so it wouldn't bother him...

This forum-specific monitor (I'd rather mod) is an exceptionally good idea.

The reason Verb wasn't made a monitor a few days ago was because of his "out-bursts", which all either took place in Serious or the Flood.

Don't give him power there. Only in Gaming.

Actually, the stated reason for my not-having-been-chosen was simply because the staff was looking for "friendly faces"--and because I've only recently "cooled down" in terms of my general demeanor. They didn't say anything about my outbursts--of which I've had none of over the summer.

There might be more to it than that, of course--maybe some mods just straight-up don't like me, and that's fine--but that was the reason given by Psy in that thread.

BTW, I'm working on adding prefix-functionality to the forum (for topics that include spoilers as well as topics that are NSFW), so this kind of thing can hopefully be avoided.

Like, you're going through a thread, and you come across somebody labeled a goatfucker. So you know immediately that they might have posted spoilers, and can safely skip over their post.

I'd rather that person, prior to posting in a given thread, has to be approved by the OP before being allowed in the thread. And can be removed at any time.

IDK, just spitballing. It's really really hard not to look at something that's right in hard of your face, especially in regards to spoilers when you've been waiting for a game for 5 years.
