It's the same concept as embedding a .avi or .mp4 file.

I have seen it elsewhere.
It's the same concept as embedding a .avi or .mp4 file.
BBCode is a local "language," unlike HTML. BBCode is always converted into something else in order for the browser to understand it. Here, with the SMF software, there's not such a code.

Maybe; the problem is that there are so many different formats for embedding videos. We'd have to install each one separately. Allowing unrestricted HTML is a huge security risk.

I would be willing to try to get <video> tags enabled, which is one of the new elements in HTML5. You'd be able to embed any video that you have the source of.
