Notification problem

To put it simply I am not getting the exclamation point for notifications below my avatar anymore, what settings do I need to mess with to get it back?

"Alerts" and "Notifications" in your profile area might be a good place to start.

Hard refresh. Do you have anything (like JavaScript) disabled? Does this happen on other browsers?

I have changed settings in "Notifications" but I don't see the alerts tab.

I have Mozilla Firefox with Noscript running but I have fully enabled this website, the strange thing is this all started when I got the "author" nameplate.

When you go to your profile, on the left under "Profile Info" there will be a few options, "Alerts" should be there.

Notifications are disabled for everyone. What you want are alerts. What do you see when you go here:

I've flipped on some redundant (I thought) permissions, since you mentioned it started happening after you got the "Author" nameplate. Did that help?

Yeah now its showing up, it looks like the nameplate permissions were causing the problem.
