given that I don't post much but have still noticed a lack of activity is tragic, considering that my own has been pretty consistent since joining.

Say you post 100 times in one day and wait 100 days before your next post, it would still say you have 1 post per day.

And given how many posts there are per month overall, 3.6 per day isn't that much.

imo you can't complain about a lack of activity if you do nothing to contribute anything yourself

I actually just did the numbers since I was curious.
You post 46 times per day. x30 days = roughly 1300 posts per month. Last month there was 16,000 posts in total.
So all in all you personally account for 10% of all posts (roughly) in any given month.

The only problem I have with them is that I click "updated threads" and the Fallout and Halo megathreads sit there like two massive, ever-growing tumors, even though I've only made like one post in the former and a handful in the latter and have no interest in ever seeing them again.

Eh it's a mixed bag. On one hand it makes the forum look a bit empty due to all posts about a game being contained to a mega thread

But then there are things posted in megathreads that didn't really need their own threads in the first place, so it's better to just post them in there.
