EDIT: I see what you're saying. Sort of like a stickyception, where important threads that would have been pinned are instead linked to inside the one thread. Eh. I don't know how I feel about that one. We don't have a pinned-thread problem, really.
This is not about easy navigation or being too lazy to check other boards, it is about freeing up space in each board for threads that actually need to be pinned.
Quote from: Cheat on October 07, 2014, 05:52:59 PMYeah, an archive could be made and pinned in this board for important info (or in News, but I think it's more appropriate in Septagon).Unfortunately this thread is now probably dead since nobody checks boards other than The Flood.

We could do what B.Old did and make a side window for extra stickies.
Unlikely. It wouldn't mesh well with mobile users at all. Even if it were moved above or below, the thread list would be tall and not very user friendly.
We could always have it for desktop users and conveniently have it disappear when someone uses mobile. That can be done with just CSS without touching the code itself.Quote from: Cheat on October 07, 2014, 06:26:35 PMUnlikely. It wouldn't mesh well with mobile users at all. Media queries are used throughout the site already, but doing what you suggest would be breaking the forum continuity a bit. I don't see that route as worth the trouble.
Actually, there's a side in design that prefers to cater for each platform individually and use their strengths, rather than give the same or or very similar experience in all platforms and deal with the weaknesses of each system and their differences. (The amount of work, and cuts to make things look good is pretty much the same anyway)Quote from: Cheat on October 07, 2014, 06:32:41 PMMedia queries are used throughout the site already, but doing what you suggest would be breaking the forum continuity a bit. Yes, you're right; the mobile post/edit menu is proof of that. I just have issue with having an entire section of pinned topics disappear for mobile.I'll consider adding a block at the top of each board that has a link to the important topics. This should suffice.
Look at the pinned topics in Septagon again, and try to tell me how what I proposed is a bad idea. Spoiler
