How did Isara become a Ninja? Last time I checked, most of the Ninjas either started out as Monitors or were voted into the position by the community. However, Isara was able to skip all of that and become a full-fledged moderator and somehow nobody else has ever questioned it. I understand that it's necessary for her to be an admin because of Sep7agon V2 and whatnot, but I think it's extremely unfair to the Monitors, who have been here for a lot longer than her, that have been overlooked. I'm sure that you don't need the powers of a Master Ninja to do web design, am I right?

Now, I'm not trying to start a shitstorm over this, so don't just lock the thread or ignore me completely. If that was my intention I would've posted this thread in the Flood.

Promoted to admin cause of web design. She's not supposed to moderate though unless it's necessary.

Also to clear up a misconception the people who are brought into the monitor position are not necessarily the same people who would be put into a moderator position.

She works with the site code and to access those sections and edit them, she does need admin access and obviously the way to get that is to become an admin.

She's not a mod, she only moderates when no one with mod powers can come online, if such a situation arises.

But technically she IS a mod. She has all of the power, if not more power, of a Master Ninja, which pretty much means she can do whatever she wants. A clear example of that is pinning her "anime recommendation thread" in the Flood, a thread that clearly does not need to be pinned.

You may become a Monitor, but never become a Ninja. Depends on your qualifications.

Don't forget the part where she deleted the comments she didn't like and threatened people that don't like anime to not comment.
This too, it's the first time that I have seen a moderator use their power to help their own personal interests, and that should not happen. I wish I was able to pin my threads so they received more attention, but that's not how it works.

I wasn't there, I can't verify if Nuka's comment was actually contributory to the thread or not.
However if it didn't derail it, then I don't see why it would be deleted.

I'm not necessarily talking about the deleted comments, I'm talking about the thread being pinned in general. It was completely unnecessary and unfair for everyone else who doesn't have the luxury of pinning any thread they want.

But now that I think about it, the deletion of joke comments in The Flood is also borderline abuse of power. Shit, I also got two comments that were deleted in that thread. One was a lighthearted weeb joke and the other was questioning why the thread was pinned in the first place. If she was expecting 100% serious replies then she should have made her thread in Serious, not the Flood.

She talked it over with the Staff before pinning it up. I was there myself. I believe she asked for Cheat's approval as well, I can't remember for sure.

Edit: good timing Cheat >_______>

In retrospect, perhaps it should have been in the Septagon Board.

Indeed, that might have been a mistake. However, shortly after conversing with Cheat about that it was agreed in case it went stale then it should be removed; it was only an experiment at the time it was made. Nothing more, nothing less.

He's talking about the one she pinned in The Flood.

Not really. Do you distrust Cheat that much? If Cheat felt that I was doing that then he would have taken my admin permissions away a good while ago. Certainly, I do have permissions similarly to a Master Ninja, but it doesn't mean that I can do whatever I want with them.

Perhaps, yes, I made one or two mistakes, and I am more than ready to apologize for any inconveniences. However, my moderation actions are only done when (a) There are no moderation team staff available at the moment (b) Only under approval.

On terms on contributing to moderation through discussion it's mostly similar to monitors, and on the means of executive power are none outside of development and maintenance of the forum.

much means she can do whatever she wants

I never said that people who dislike anime shouldn't bother commenting; I said that derailing posts would be deleted, and that the thread was only to be used for Anime discussion and recommendations. I also sent PM's to both you, and Dave explaining about the situation. There was no long-winded reply.

It's awkward that you would call some experimentation as a personal interest. What would I be gaining from pinning a thread on The Flood on a personal level? Attention is a personal interest for you, perhaps, but for me it isn't. If I wanted attention then I would not be on Sep7agon, I would be doing something else with my time.

This too, it's the first time that I have seen a moderator use their power to help their own personal interests, and that should not happen. I wish I was able to pin my threads so they received more attention, but that's not how it works.

It was in a grey are where he simply asked why the thread was getting a different treatment than other threads. I felt that it would sway the discussion towards something beyond the thread's purpose, and thus it was removed from the thread. He was also informed via PM of what was actually going on.

I wasn't there, I can't verify if Nuka's comment was actually contributory to the thread or not.
However if it didn't derail it, then I don't see why it would be deleted.

I'd just like to point out, with the anime recommendation thread post removals that a fair few of them were undone afterwards. (I.e restored) I don't have the specifics but the ones that were inevitably derailing/argument starting were removed.

Perhaps it was overkill, but all things considered it's nigh on impossible for people to discuss anime on here without at least someone, doing the fucking weebs/die wibblies/hiroshima bombing yadda yadda yadda routines. It does get tiresome, even if you don't care too much about the threads.

Would I have removed them as zealously? Perhaps not, but I think this problem was reflected and acted upon with the restoration of some of the posts in there. The one that comes to mind was Verbatim saying how awful Kill la Kill was and some discussion on that.

Just some food for thought >.>

You will find out who you are not a thousand times, before you ever discover who you are. I hope you find peace in yourself and learn to love instead of hate.
I actually support deleting comments when it's needed. Instead of locking and killing it for everyone else, you can just remove the waste and let people enjoy whatever the thread is. If only more mods did it.

That's not the PM I got.

Also I guess I'll apologize about the "long drawn out thing" as I'm realizing it only looked long on mobile. I also didn't feel like going into a debate over PM and saw the immediate censorship and PM asking for debate as rather rude.
It clearly says "sent to Officer Big Dick Dave"
