As most people know, I disapprove of the decision the staff reached above. But now, let's let the community publically voice its opinion on the conclusion of the "Monitor cleanup." If more people disagree with the decision than agree with it, perhaps we can convince Cheat to give it another look.

Spoiler
To clarify, Yutaka staying isn't the issue. It's primarily about the removal of TBlocks and Rocketman. Both were talented mods with no reason to be removed, and now we're greatly understaffed in terms of EST mods. It's just not good administration.

Give it up, no one gives a shit.

You saw that thread and the replies, the majority of the people didn't want TBlocks or Rocketman.
Then you shouldn't have anything to worry about.

I disagree with you Class, the other two were clearly not right for the position, however as monitors they were fine.

I still don't see what people have a big problem with. The worst thing I can think of is that Rocketman got warned. Is that supposed to be a big deal? Other mods have done far worse and still kept their position.

Aren't the majority EST or at least fairly close if you were to separate it by timezone?

Yutaka and Demonic are EST

Psy is BST

Flee is whatever the fuck Belgium is normally, but currently he's in CST with Cheat.

Isara is in Greek land

and I'm PST.

So if you look at it this way

Currently Yutaka, Demonic, Flee, and Cheat are relatively close to each other when it comes to time zones.

Normally Psy Flee and Isara are relatively close to eachother to cover European time zones.
(Yes Isara isn't supposed to mod, but she can if shits going down and she's the only one on)

That leaves me by myself in PST which is 2/3 hours behind the Central and Eastern people and 8/9/10 hours behind the Euros.

However because of this 8-10 hour time delay you'll have the Euros coming on when I'm going to bed and seeing as how the majority of the site operates on CST, EST, and BST this means that the coverage is actually pretty good at the moment.

What I'm trying to get at is a timezone argument is pretty flimsy.

Whatever helps you sleep at night, man.

It's a gross misrepresentation for the amount of EST users on this site.

I think I could count the amount of known PST members on my hands.

I also don't really need help sleeping at night. I'm just trying to let you know that a timezone argument is probably the worst way to go about making your case. Especially when you're trying to say that EST has the least coverage when it currently has the most and is normally on par with Europe.

no reason to be removed
To be fair, they were on trial and did have minor screw-ups during that time period. Cheat was looking to trim down the staff, and that was his decision after the trial period, the public discussion thread, and the reports submitted by the Master Ninjas. So although Cheat did have the last say, I really doubt he was alone or unwarranted in his opinion.

But more importantly, this is in no way a 'permanent' removal. There's still a chance they could return. Calm your tits.

How?
No one ever explained to us with examples of why we should be fired. It seemed that because we interacted with the community more, more people decided to pick on Rocket and I. Even still Yutaka made mistakes behind the scenes but they were minimized due to him not actually talking with the community. I'm not sure what else I can tell you....

Considering that the general consensus seems to be that in regards to timezone coverage we're doing fine I'm inclined to think I'm right on the money.

If you're going to make an argument against Cheat's decision I'd suggest you not use the timezone one.

I remembered the line from the Hindu scripture, the Bhagavad-Gita.
Vishnu is trying to persuade the Prince that he should do his duty

I suppose we all thought that one way or another.

How isn't this one of the arguments being made?

Care to enlighten me as to what the argument is? What I quoted earlier was the only thing given that may have had some hard evidence backing it and it's been shown to be demonstrably false. Which is in turn why I'm recommending that any sort of timezone argument be avoided.

The other argument in the OP is a purely subjective one which is why I'm not going to tackle it. Cause opinions man.

This is true.
Yep.

I wasn't up to par this time around. I made some mistakes and was rightfully disciplined or notified of said mistakes.

No excuses. I messed up plain and simple. All I can do is work on things, try to learn from my mistakes and keep moving forward.

Maybe next time.

This thread isn't about starting an argument, it's about starting a poll. Something that you didn't do. When a large, controversial decision like this is made by the staff, a thread asking for opinions on it is more than warranted.

And besides, a quick look at the poll results tells you this isn't as black and white as you think.

I wouldn't call it controversial if we knew from the start that this was a trial and not all three were guaranteed to make it.

This isn't controversial, and also I don't think everything has to get through a poll with the community. In this case, I am more than confident that Cheat, and the Master Ninjas have come with a reasonable solution. If Yutaka didn't display promise then he wouldn't have been chosen. You can rant all you want about it, but you have zero fundamental arguing points besides this poll of yours that displays nothing besides random opinions being cast.
