That's pretty cool. But why would you expect a raise after a couple months at jj's? Usually it's 6 months you get a raise in fast food
I was promised a raise when I learned how to bread start, then the bar was raised to being able to help open and close the store, then to managing catering orders, etc.

I wasn't getting anywhere anytime soon.

The Flood / From $7.75 to a salary in six months
« on: February 07, 2016, 09:32:43 AM »
Last August I got my first job at Jimmy Johns in downtown Charleston making $7.75/hr. After four months of being refused a raise I got a job making $10/hr. at a movie theater. Now I just got hired as a service advisor at a local Nissan dealership making $36K a year plus commission. I went from making $270 every two weeks to making $1,500, and I only went to college for three months.

The thing is that while hard work helped me excel at my jobs, the real reason I got to where I am is because I know the right people and I had the attitude where if I wasn't moving up then I needed to move out. Now I've got a career I'm going to enjoy, I play bass in a punk rock band, and I'm going to be completely emancipated from my parents—all this in the span of six months.

So yeah, life is going great. I may not make six figures but I'm also not grinding my youth away in a four-year institution living off my parents' teat. Feels good man.

So yeah, how's everyone else doing?

As much as I love the traitor guy, she should have been the one to beat Finn down on Maz's planet.

OP do you know this person? She seems to know that you didn't live somewhere before.
We went to the same church for a while back in Lexington. Haven't seen each other since 2011.

One of the attackers was a Syrian migrant who entered the EU via Greece earlier this year.

The attacker that was gunned down by police was only 15.

Seeing as the thread was about if Islam is a violent religion and was asking about other forms of religious terrorism. Since the discussion didn't say it had to be specifically about modern day religion the Crusades is a valid point.
The pillaging and killing of the early Islamic caliphates more than makes up for the destruction brought on by the Crusades.

And Islam has been a violent religion since its founding, on a much larger scale than any other religion in the world.

When anyone can get a loan for school, what incentive does the school have not to charge as much as they want?  They get the money no matter what, because the government doesn't run out of money.

Something Meta kept citing was how students cannot file for bankruptcy, and that's supposed to be the root of the problem.

who the FUCK wants to file for bankruptcy
ever
No one wants to.  But if you absolutely have to you should have that option.

Not as big but much more dense.

Beat those games first. By the time you do, Fallout 4 will be fixed.
mfw I haven't gotten any game-breaking bugs and my framerate stays more or less constant at 60 fps.

The Flood / Re: Can zombie culture die now?
« on: November 02, 2015, 02:08:45 PM »
Unless I Am Legend counts as zombies. That was a great film.
Those are vampires.
Vampires suck blood and turn into bats. Those are not vampires.
Zombies can't return from the dead. The infected in IAL don't deteriorate physically, and they still retain memories and connections to former friends/family (ex. the alpha's connection to the turned woman Neville was experimenting on).
