Halo MCC was on sale lately and it's crossplay.

Otherwise there's Destiny I think? (Lol) and Planetside 2.
I'd be down to play some Halo with you guys, ngl.

After all this Ukraine stuff, I was looking into all of the of the humanitarian atrocities committed by both sides. This was one of those down the rabbit hole moments where you just click and click, until I got to where the estimated average of any nation's military may stand at. The U.S., obviously, stands at a respectable number... but accounting for Militia, it stands at a respectable zero in comparison to the multi-millions every top ten or so nation has.

Is it because Wikipedia considers the National Guard to be that, or that most countries believe that anyone can eventually pick up a gun during any kind of invasion?

Just looking for your thoughts.

With pure honesty? Not the best of times.

Sorely poor since moving to where I am currently, because my wife's family lied about the housing  prices and job availability. Not in the genuine market value sense, but more in the WE WISH TO CONTROL ideal of thinking. Moved a little ways away after cutting contact, and if my recent posts can't clue your in, we just need to get the fuck outta here.

Having a good paying job at an unmarked building where we do fairly nefarious shit isn't worth this. I just want to go back to being a chef for a living.

Gubment job btw. I have a nondisclosure agreement to not tell anyone the full name. Starts with a N tho

How goes the war my man
The war is lost. They've resorted to just pounding bass in their car, right below us. Went down to ask them to turn it down yesterday, and immediately two of his friends from the adjacent car came to check shit out. Immediately fled, as I'm not going to get jumped again.

Wife had a screaming match from the window a couple hours later, and he threatened to murder us, so... nice. Called the cops three times, and they never fucking came. Just need to move out of this shithole.

Jesus where do you live Detroit?
Do you have a gun?
I've asked her multiple times why we don't. The argument of having a kid has definitely gone the toilet now, though. Gun safe is to be delivered in the next couple days, and my Mossberg 590 Nightstick is due to the store the day after tomorrow.

Is TP considered widely disliked?

I thought it was basically the most renowned Zelda between the 64 ones and BOTW?
General consensus on Zelda forums was it brought nothing to the table that OoT didn't. Don't think it was really unpopular tho
I'd call it more polarizing than disliked, kinda like WW.

You either loved it or hated it. Definitely aged poorly graphically due to it going for the realism approach. I can't stand it on the Cube now because it really doesn't look great, so I have to emulate. Got an mClassic on the way though, so hopefully those days are over.

Twilight Princess, too. Yeah, the beginning dragged, but the tone was awesome. Wind Waker might be my favourite Zelda, but TP holds a special place in my heart. Also had the best companion, so a brownie point for it there. Wii version was fun as hell, as well. SS might have been a superior revision, but TP as a OoT copy-paste it still did everything significantly better than Skyward.

id say TP had some if not the best dungeons in the series

city in the sky is personally one of my favorites
City in the Sky, Ancient Cistern (Koloktos being my favourite boss of all time), and the Forest Temple from Ocarina were all so excellent that I wish most games could follow up to Zelda's ingenuity. The variety they can come up with is insane at times.

The first Drakengard. Very shitty gameplay even by PS2 hack and slash standards, but the mindlessness of killing perhaps thousands per level was exhilarating. That the story getting increasingly deranged per route (my favourite part, ending D being the best imho) got it universally panned is tragic, but knowing it lead to Nier and Automata is pretty awesome though. Caim is still my favourite protagonist/anti-villain, and he was the Red-Eye.

Starfox Adventures as well. Fucked with the formula, but it was genuinely a fun game. Some parts were unnecessarily difficult or dragged out far longer than they needed to be, but overall it was lit af. I imagine its current status as the pariah of the series comes mostly from how hard it enabled furries due to Crystal.

Only person I'd care to meet are either Verb to see how he acts in real life or E because he's a cool fuckin' guy.

Had plans to meet with Cadenza before he left, as we were buddies since around 2011. Even if it was unnecessary, we were pen pals for years too. Not gonna sort through the letters for the exact dates, but we were going to hang at a beach in Australia with his family around November 2018. Then he dropped out of college, and that was the last I ever heard from him.

Just a reminder - I lived in Louisiana for 16 years in a shitty neighborhood, and lived in Arkansas for another 9 with no problems whatsoever.

Since coming to Utah for the year and a half I've been here, I have been beaten to unconsciousness and robbed (with broken but thankfully fixed teeth), had an actual home robbery, and now I'm partially blind. Last part is incidentally my fault for not just kicking it away and not properly washing my hands afterwards... but fuck this state. Makes me want to move away as far as possible.
whether you want to or not, it sounds like you're on the path to being an excellent country singer. just need to throw in some good bar fights
ngl, I've had a really crappy county song lurking in the back of my head since the advent of soundcloud rappers. The worst part is, I think the hicks and rednecks might actually love it. Got a friend in a cm band, and he thought it was hilarious.

Beer/truck/guitar is always the go to for lyrics. Maybe a little bar to spice things up.

See I actually did meth once and didn't lose my sight

sounds like a bummer for sure though. Just goes to show that drugs are no bueno
Dude, I never did that shit. I tried to toss the ounce baggie and it spilled onto my hand.

Anything in the HIGH class range of drugs I've never had, nor do I want to. DMT is the exception; was fun as hell, but I'd never do it again.

The hospital told me it was meth. Been under an eyewash for the past two day, and I can now see again.

Have some saline or pure H2O(?) to rub it under for the next few days to continuously wash that garbage out.

Any lasting damage?
Oh, absolutely. They say the toxins of whatever it was cut with tore my cornea and underlying tissue to shreds, but particles slowly seeping behind my eye with every blink made it even worse. They were glad I came, otherwise I would have permanently lost sight in it.

Not gonna lie, significantly reduced vision is better than a completely blind eye though.

Could have been meth or coke, but a miniscule baggy sitting below my mailbox piqued my curiosity enough to toss it so I didn't get the cops called on me. Left eye is so fucked right now I want to just die. Right side of my brain feels like a steamroller is running over it.

Why the fuck did I touch that shit.

Audio psyops are routinely ineffective (see Waco).

Try tear gas and tanks instead.
Never heard of Waco until now. That was a pretty interesting read.

Dude hasn't had an utterance from his apartment since I started, though. Seems to be working fine, until I get murdered lmao.

Play The Hills by The Weeknd on a great sound system with bass that’ll make fat people jiggle to assume dominance
That shit was loud even on my regular settings. Where tf were you when I needed you?

Can you not just knock on his door and tell him if you hear that music while trying to sleep you'll pay a visit and make him look like a pretzel?

That or escelate it. Just park all your shit right outside his door and sit there in a camping chair. Hope you're picking the most obnoxious music you can find.

If you really want to break him down just play something like Barney the dinosaur's into music on a loop. They use it in guantanimo to psychologically break people down and it apparently works like a charm.
Dude is 250 (or more) of pure muscle. I'm 120 of an admittedly sedentary lifestyle. No intimidation factor there, as I'm the one intimidated lol. I feel like I've escalated as much as I can at this point. Multiple sound ordinance calls have done nothing, letters just make the guy get fucking noisier in response.

Imagine having a fucking newborn child. I can barely sleep anyways, so this dickhead ensuring my child CAN'T, at all times of the day and night?

100 decibels through my floor, everyday, for the past five months. I have a baby, so whenever he's not home you're fucked.

Dickhead is a wife-beater too, so no remorse. Enjoy 160-200 intermediately, during your late nights, dude.

I have to cover with earplugs, and it still hurts afterwards.

Hey buddy. Got a surprise for you. I had the idea forming for a few months, maybe three ago or so. Hearing the six month sober mark prompted me to finish it. This is for you just in case I happen to pop my clogs before I get around to my business.

I share my work freely, so I hope you don't mind if I drop it here. But for you, later in the year I'll get this printed out onto canvas and you'll have the only physical copy of it. You've earned it buddy. That's the least I can do methinks, but it's something.
Yo, sorry for the late response. Gotta say that this is pretty wicked, man. Gonna go check out your other Art stuff in a little bit, but again,  it's pretty rad and I really appreciate it.

Brother I'm glad for you. I've felt that physical withdraw two separate times in my life for a couple days each and I could not imagine living with it long term. You're a strong motherfucker, man.  Best of luck forward.
I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy. Night-terrors, hallucinations, and seizures were consistent for the longest time. The difficulty of knowing what was real or not fucked me up for a long time, but I made it.

Glad you did too. Fuck booze.

Really proud of this one, boys.

Alcohol has been the most destructive force in my life, and while I'm still paying for it, I can at least say it's finally under my own control.

I'm one of the few who experiences DT's long term, and knowing how far I've gotten since that last drink... I don't know how to describe it. I feel almost giddy writing this. I feel in control, conscious, and I'm loving every second of it.

« on: January 04, 2022, 01:33:22 PM »
I've been reading the Sword of Truth books with my wife over the past year, and by god is it a fucking miserable experience. The first book is a spectacular story as a standalone, but after the third it just keeps slogging on and on. I personally wouldn't have continued if she weren't adamant that we might as well since they were a gift. Here we are on Omen Machine and I'm kinda just done with TK's filler and endless reiterations.

I've been currently going through Phillip K. Dick and Harlan Ellison's works as of late. Finished off all of Lovecraft's works a couple of weeks ago, and The Colour Out of Space and At the Mountains of Madness are by far the two I most adore.

I also plan on reading through all of the Tolkien books again once the Game-Mania running through me subsides.

All Quiet on the Western Front will probably remain my favourite singular book of all time, though.
