I'm not going to doubt that intelligence agency's claim of manipulation in the election. But I really wish they did go into detail about how exactly they did "hack" it. Like, did they actually tap into the electronic ballets of states and manipulate the electronic votes? Or did they just post dank memes on Facebook?
Outside of the DNC hacking, it's believed that the Russian's attempted to infiltrate voter registration rolls of roughly 20 states ( x). According to Muller's recent indictments, one state (believed to be Illinois) was breached, with upwards of 200-300,000 voter's compromised. Not that the votes were changed, but that the person's information was retrieved. Beyond that, it's still unclear what information was obtained and what was done with it, in terms of assisting in the propaganda and disinformation campaigns.

What exactly did they do?
Violation of FARA, tax evasion and other financial crimes - they made a ton of money for their job and used fake/faulty corporations and shell companies to skirt tax laws (From my understanding). Nothing linked directly to Russia or the Trump campaign, outside of the fact that dates in the indictment indicate Manafort and Gates continued their activities during and after they worked for the campaign. Gates remained close to White House officials even after leaving the campaign, well into this year. The reveal of the third person (Papadopulous) who pled guilty relates to this though, is far more consequential to the overall investigation. The lawyers under Mueller are likely going to use him as leverage to get more information out of either Manafort and/or Gates regarding others involved.
