When I was a little kid I envisioned my future as being in my mid 20's. I'm still not in my mid 20's, but I'm 21 so I don't have long.
I never thought of myself doing anything weird. I used to want to move to Japan to work on anime but I'm pursuing applied science as opposed to art.
I still haven't reached that age.

Of course you can engage in debates about the objective; to use an example in which one party is not so obviously empirically incorrect, just think of the current debates in theoretical physics surrounding string theory, loop quantum gravity, et cetera. The fact that physicists are debating these issues and trying to reach the truth doesn't negate the fact that objective truth exists.
Indeed, you and I could begin debating something already well-established now. Because objectivity is not contingent on our perception of it.
I might do a post on epistemology and truth actually, since a lot of people find it really confusing.

There is no such thing as a "dirty" calorie. A calorie is a calorie.
You could live on a diet of twinkies and still lose weight. Or what I'd prefer, a diet of twinks.
I forgot about this thread. But yeah you're right a dirty calorie doesn't necessarily exist, but you can get calories from dirty food. Like I always factor in other things like carbs, fats, and proteins. But I'll still eat some sweets every now and then.

I don't see the relevance of ontology on this subject though. Whether something is objective or not can be defined by epistemological concepts and are usually absolute. Ontology can probably be valid in discussing the observable, but when discussing conceptual things like morality I don't see why it needs to be addressed. Although if you can correct me please do. But the fact that we can debate mortality inherently means it can't be objective, since something that's objective retains this state independent of any bias.

There was this hilarious Asian kid who used to live in the dorm close to mine, and in the food hall he would always come in talking or laughing loudly. He's a really nice dude who I think has autism or something.
Anyway the funny part is that he would always approach and hit on girls, balls of steel on this guy. He would talk loud and tell some kind of joke, and then he'd end up laughing so loud you could hear him across the food hall. He was in my cal III class.

So I got literally no sleep last night and today has been one of my busiest days in a while. I had to go to work at 8 AM, then got off at 1, then had school at 1:40 and we did a lab until 4:15, and then at 4:30 I had a test which I pretty much aced with little prep time, then I had another lab at 6 that just ended. All. Without. Sleep. I grind hard.
Anyway what's the longest you've gone without sleep? I think I pulled off two days once during finals week.

Sounds like you're measuring the success of the species based on space exploration. While it's a great feat, it's not really a relevant measure of technological success. Also there wasn't much peace post Cold War, we jumped right back into conflict in the early 90's, and that's just the U.S. On a global scale peace hasn't been achieved in a while.
War is a good means of innovation because you're forced to innovate, or you lose to the enemy. But I'd rather economic competition instead of the fear of death be the means in which technology professes. In regards to space exploration, you'd be better off waiting for more advanced propulsion and material technology to be made in the private sector.
