Damn bro. You were pretty far into the field weren't you? Comp Sci if I recall correctly.
4 out of 8 required major classes
You're 100 percent sure you want to opt out? I've thought it about it a few times too but I think persistence is the only way most make it through STEM. I can't necessarily blame you though.

I don't watch horror films much, but they look like they all follow the same formula. A few jump scares here and there, characters that don't do anything real people would do so they get in situations, some banging, etc.

I wouldn't mind having a son. Or maybe a son and daughter, being the only child can suck sometimes. You?

Basically my age. I'm young, so naturally I still have to finish school. I'm still in college and making connections and joining clubs and societies so I can find a good job after I graduate. I'm trying to get this internship and see where that goes, but if all else fails I'll do some engineering for the air force. So yeah, nothing really holding me back but credits and time I guess.

Serious / Why do we allow a two party system in the US?
« on: October 20, 2015, 01:40:40 AM »
I've always wondered why there are two dominant parties that represent the extreme left or right of the political spectrum, when the political opinion of the nation varies beyond the ideals of the two party system. The other smaller parties should get more attention and maybe the country wouldn't be so polarized and divided since the representation of the people would be broader. What do you think?

I doubt they'll become the standard and replace gas cars until battery technology is revolutionized. The lithium ion and I believe nickel metal hydride battery isn't really cutting it, so the overall chemistry needs reevaluated.
Batteries in their current state aren't efficient enough due to the recharge rate, and power output vs longevity.

Tesla makes a good performing EV though regardless. And I do hope gas cars are replaced eventually.
Actually the batteries are fine for most people's needs.
In the real world, EV's would need to meet everyone's needs, hence changing the standard. The fact is they don't, and there's literally no incentive to buy them when you can get a gas car for cheaper, that's more efficient, and better infrastructure. I could show a simple graph represting energy output of the common battery relative to gasoline and it wouldn't even be a contest.
>EV's would need to meet everyone's needs

Here's where we disagree. People that live and commute in a city/suburb of that city (ie. most people) have different needs than a person in a rural area(like me). Where as someone like Max or Charlie could probably get by with the battery life as it is now(as I understand it), I could not.
The thing is people's needs aren't static. Eventfully that guy in the suburbs will need to make a long drive. It's really a matter of versatility, which is what most people want.

The attractive part of an EV is the cost of fuel per mile I drive. If I'm paying $3.50/gal at the pump right now, paying a fraction of that for a full "tank" on an EV is tempting. It may cost more to buy an EV, but the cost of ownership is less - lower cost of fuel and less maintenance.
This is true, however we still need to look at the infrastructure right now. Charging stations are not common, and the most common ones are not supercharging tesla stations, so we're looking at long charging times. People notice this, and they common thing that people dislike is the range on common EVs, and they dislike the range because if they run out of charge they're screwed. They're practical in large urban areas and major cities, but for spread out areas it becomes an issue.

2 a's 2 c's and a d
In what classes
Band is an a
Math is a d
World studies and science is c
English is an a
D in math

I'm so disappoint Ender
Shut up
What are you taking Algebra. If you need help mate ask.
Algebra.

I am trying as hard as I can to do well, I want to go to a good college and everything. I think my biggest problem is my lack of motivation for just about everything.

What we're doing now isn't too hard though, we just finished up cross multiplying and now we're working on new stuff since it's a new quarter.

If I do need help I'll ask you, thanks man, it means a lot.
You could message me too if you want. I've take math all the way to calculus III so I have a lot of practice with various forms of algebra, including linear algebra. Out of all the crap you learn, this is the one you'll want to pay attention in.

From what has been posted, they're just generic snacks.

Can literally get everything that has been posted ITT from literally every food store
It'll never be as good and as reasonably priced as little debbie. I bet you euro scrubs could even touch the variety of snacks little debbie has. And that's just the tip of the ice berg when it comes to the godliness that is the American food industry.

The honey buns are pretty good. But if you put their brownies in the fridge, they become twice as dank. So the brownies win.

I personally think women have a better voice for singing in general. I'm sure the wider vocal range has a lot to do with it but I feel like they have more energy and power behind their voice when they sing. In general.

How the hell are you people arguing about this LOL

Exercise is good and important. Bodybuilding is stupid. End of discussion.
Bodybuilding is literally build upon different exercises and a healthy diet.
Bodybuilding is making your body unhealthy. Those constantly rigid muscles don't make for an athletic body and when they atrophy you're gonna have big problems.

Especially all those fucking chemicals you guys use, not to mention steroids.
Large muscles aren't rigid and stiff, hence most football players and wrestlers. The only time they'll be stiff is during recovery, like any other form of exercise. And if they atrophy then you just get smaller muscles. It's not like they'll shrink so fast you get loose skin.
Also not every bodybuilder takes steroids.

I do, and I hate that you made this thread.

If you want to get people into lifting, or to adopt a healthier lifestyle (And lifting isn't for everybody, some people just prefer other ways of exercising), then you should sarcastically ask why the don't lift. It's pretentious, and makes it sound like they're automatically at a loss for not doing it. Some people might benefit a lot from lifting, but like I said, not everybody is after that kind of physique, or needs the added confidence boost that it can give you.

Better thread title would've been, "What do you do to stay in shape?"
Your first mistake is taking this satire seriously. This is not the serious forum, and I do not care if people take up lifting or not. I'm just exclaiming how great and beneficial it is.

Because I don't have a reason to be that muscular.

I don't need to carry heavy shit in my daily life, I shouldn't need to rely on my muscles to get girls (apart from one muscle >.>), and my country has free healthcare meaning I don't have to worry about my health, past my weight.

I'm happy cycling or swimming, that's more genuinely healthy and useful stuff to train compared to lifting a heavy object and putting it down again.
False. Unless you swim and cycle multiple times a week, you can't even begin to compare the two. First off one is cardiovascular and the other is strength training. Second, strength training can also improve the cardiovascular system minutely while improving bone density, tendon strength, posture, the immune system, and hormonal regulation.

I know that, but I still see little point in the benefits of strength training unless you have a job that requires you to lift things everyday, when I can focus solely on cardio and be "generally healthy" rather than "specifically healthy".
Benefits:
Increases HDL - High Density Lipoprotein (good cholesterol) and decrease LDL - Low Density Lipoprotein (bad cholesterol).
Reduces risk of diabetes and insulin needs.
Lowers risk of cardiovascular disease.
Lower high blood pressure.
Lowers risk of breast cancer - reduces high estrogen levels linked to the disease.
Decreases or minimizes risk of osteoporosis by building bone mass.
Reduces symptoms of PMS (Premenstrual Syndrome)
Reduces stress and anxiety.
Decreases colds and illness.

For starters, the nearest gym is probably a few hundred miles away in the city.

Second, I don't have the time to kill on a hobby like that.

And third, I'm not in the business of casual fucking.

Weightlifting is fine and all, because at least it keeps you healthy. And, you do get the bonus of being attractive. But I've always sort of viewed it as a time waster. It's a city folk thing that people do when they have literally nothing else to do.
It takes only two hours out of the day, at most. I usually stay for an hour and a half. Most people sit around doing nothing for way more time than that. Plus I go to school and I work. Not having enough time is just an excuse.

K den.

See if you can manage it when you work from 6 in the morning to 12 at night.
That's a very unusual shift.

Like how much I can lift? Well it's complicated. I haven't calculated my 1 rep max and I do like 20 different exercises. Sometimes I train for strength for a few months and then hypertrophy.
