The Flood / Re: That's it, I'm getting AdBlock

I swear, I literally got an 11 minute ad one time on Youtube, and it was unskippable. It's been several years and I still haven't fully recovered.

The Flood / Re: Would you rather be skinny or muscular
« on: September 15, 2015, 06:56:59 PM »
Skinny just means looking like a normal person
I don't think they'd be described as "skinny" if they just looked normal. Skinny is noticeably thin.
The way I see it, fatness goes like this

Anorexic --> Skinny --> Chubby --> Fat --> Obese

Skinny would be the normal thing
I'd (and I'd think most people would) slot "normal" or "average" between Skinny and Chubby.
I feel like your view of "skinny" is my view of "anorexic"
Yeah I guess so. But so is google's it seems, which describes skinny as "unattractively thin"

Show me where to get muscular with "no effort whatsoever"

If I knew I'd tell you.
Oh, I misread your comment. I thought you were saying "why would someone be skinny when being muscular takes no effort?"

You mean scrawny?

But I don't see why you would choose to be scrawny if you could be muscular with no effort whatsoever.
Show me where to get muscular with "no effort whatsoever"

Don't see the point in killing characters if they don't have the integrity to make them stay dead.

It's no better than the ending to Twilight.
Game of Thrones has had its fair share of character killing. Literally one very minor character has come back to life, and he's only really served as a way to show the power of the Lord of Light.

551
There would be no point in watching the show if they killed off both Stannis and Jon.

The Flood / Re: tfw you get playing Half-Life as legit study material

Your teacher sounds like a Valve fanboy.
How does liking one Valve game make you a Valve fanboy?

It's not about liking the game, it's about using it as an example of "good narrative in video games".
I'll rephrase the question then... how does using Half Life as an example of good narrative in a video game make you a Valve fanboy?

Hmm. You know I just drank a 12oz guinness draught and I do feel slightly buzzed.

Know what's strange? I'm Irish and I have never had a pint of Guinness before.
That's not strange. I'm Irish too and actually drinking Guinness is considered strange here.
