All day yesterday I was seeing comments on facebook like "proud to be irish" and whatever, even though we lost. People were celebrating and congratulating the team for putting a decent show in the tournament at all.
Then I read this...
Quote
Before Sunday's match, Argentina football legend Diego Maradona said that the team should not bother coming home if they lose.
What an absolute cunt.

304
Was this Ireland's last game then?
yes  :'( :'( :'( :'(

Lionel Wessi will be coming on in the second half, he'll bag us another few goals

307
And Meera is Jon's twin sister. At the tower of joy Howland and Ned both each took a baby.
Meera and Jon both look alike and they were both supposedly born on the year that Lyanna died.

Brady again!!!! Oh my god

Shaqiri's chips don't lie

didn't watch the match nor did I see the goal so I apologise if his goal wasn't a chip

Pass grades sometimes vary in different courses here, I know computer science students who claim that their pass grade is 51%, but their professor has never given a mark higher than 67%

well done 👍
yep. got mine, did shit

What did you do?
Electronic Engineering, but I was sick during the semester 1 exams. And our course is so shitly designed anyway, we're doing so many modules where we're the first year doing them and even the head of the department said some of the new modules were too hard.
Put it this way, I know of one person who didn't fail the year and I think everyone else did.

The Flood / Re: Should professional Russian Roulette be legalized?
« on: June 23, 2016, 06:47:01 PM »
because the only people who would participate in that are the mentally ill, and racketeering off of that is pretty fucking immoral
Mentally ill people have rights, too, believe it or not
i'm not saying they shouldn't be allowed to play russian roulette

i'm just saying--let's not build an industry around that

let's not take advantage of and exploit and profit off of that

If there were a thorough screening process implemented to prevent the mentally ill from playing, would it be acceptable?
Willingly playing the game would be failing the screening process, no?

Juninho is the GOAT free kick specialist. No argument.

He was the first player I ever truly fell in love with outside or Ronaldhino.

It was the first jersey I ever owned of any player, and a jersey I cherish to this day. So few people knew about him, but he was an absolute legend
Obviously I can't speak for the situation over there, but here literally anyone who watches football over the age of 12 knows who Juninho is. He's as well known as Kaka, Roberto Carlos or Ronaldo.

But what if it's chunks of gold, or 5lb Ingots?

Goodbye asshole.

Oh yeah such new ideas as #KillAllMen and #MasculinitySoFragile.  Feminism has gotten worse, and is mostly used to push in favor of women more than equality, and then they cry sexism if you disagree.  If feminists really want to help subjugated women, they should look outside of the US and help those really in need.
not all of them have the know-how or wherewithal to do so, and some of them are actively doing that

it's easy to pick on hyperbolic hashtags like #KillAllMen and pretend as though feminists actually want to kill all men, but that that tends to fall right apart when you realize that, "oh, they don't actually want to kill all men, it's just an expression"

please give an example of modern feminists trying to push women in society above men
For one, pushing for increase of pay for women's soccer, where women's and men's soccer aren't comparable because of how economics work.
You can't compare two football player's wages at all. It's up the manager in negotiating a contract with the player and their agent, so in most teams the best player will be the best paid. The highest paid player in a league 2 team will be paid less than the lowest paid player in a premiership side. Why? Because you can't say "these two players do the EXACT same work and yet one gets paid more than the other, that's inequality", because each player is unique in what they add to the team, and better players add more.

It actually boggles my mind that people can compare footballers' pay like this..

Yeah, but to compensate, I follow more than one team and support one over in the states as well. In fact I feel more invested in them, which is why when they won the MLS Cup, I actually felt emotional that a team I supported that hit a rocky bottom a year before, came out and won it all due to an amazing run.

I also support Crystal Palace in the EPL. Gotta have an underdog.
wtf you can't support three teams?

THAT'S CHEATING!
By supporting CP (they abbreviate it like that in some games. Maybe not do that lol), I more so mean I'm just kinda hoping they win their games and do well. The one I most passionately support is Portland Timbers, and in the EPL obviously Man City.
Are you from Manchester?
