Doubtful? If I want no information I take no information. If I want loads I take advantage of that. How is that doubtful? Yes, I am one person. But the "wealth of information" is supplying for a wealth of interests and hobbies. I'll take what information I will from it, which can be ANYTHING, regardless of what my interests are. A person who is, say, an artist will take something different. The vast pool of information is catering to both, even though I have no interest in his shit and he has no interest in mine.

Did you read the rest of my post? I'm not saying mods don't add anything. In fact, they add a considerable amount of enjoyment. But when you're first experiencing a game, I always think it's better to focus on actually playing through it and keeping focused on the game itself instead of installing mods. I'm arguing for mods here, what the hell are you on?

To me, there's no such thing as a "lore-breaking mod". They all break the lore. Even the graphics-enhancing ones. In the game's universe, the unmodded vanilla graphics--That's how the universe in that game is. Changing that is changing the fabric of that universe, which to me, is bad. And I won't do it.
I see. The Elder Scrolls games must be set in different universes. Don't worry, I understand what you're saying. The game in its pure form is best, and I always play a game through vanilla before I install any mods. But when I have it completed, why not add more? Whether I want to have it so my character can wear a cape, or simply fix a shortcoming of the game (like how the arena has fuck all spectators in oblivion), what is the harm? I don't care about "lore". Especially when it does comply with the lore of the universe, just not the lore of the standalone game.

I'd rather just play video games in their pure, vanilla form. You know, as they were intended to be played.
Mods can add things that the developers wouldn't have had time to, or simply wouldn't have thought of. You can also do shit like make the graphics better, add more animations into the game as well as more story content. IMO, you're having a better experience than the developers intended. I haven't even mentioned total conversion mods, which don't affect the vanilla game at all but act like a completely separate game.
