I've kept with a general theme (though Mr Pink and is quote is just a general "ITT" observation) of thoughtful people (Khan, the Russian Metro Hippy and Mark the social worker in a crazy mythical New York).

I tend to note those with standard Bungie avatars (inc custom emblems) seem more serious e.g. Risay/Mr. Psycho/Deci/Zizzy, although Camnator throws this off quite a bit.
Hey, I'm not serious. Look, I can have fun too!

I haven't changed anything in the profile for several weeks (maybe longer). Perhaps Isara changed something.
With all due respect, I don't really like it. Looks a little cluttered and unorganised. On top of the whole "likes" thing.
Just so I know we're on the same page here, this is what you are all seeing, right?

This is completely different, how could you not notice?
You must've modified it in your settings.
Go to Look and Layout and uncheck "Use sidebar menus instead of dropdown menus when possible."
That's it, thank you!
Bizarre though, I didn't even know you could do that. Wonder how it happened.

What do you mean?

I can see the likes I've received and given very easily.
how?
Go to Profile
Beneath Profile Info
Click 'Like Posts'
To the left of that should be two buttons "Likes given" "Likes received"
i covered this in the OP.
And that shows "recent posts liked" not "recently liked posts". If someone likes a post from a while ago, you won't see it.
When was it a thing?
Since the beginning of the site.

How come I can't see my "recently liked posts" anymore? Am I missing it?
Please don't tell me I have to go I to likes>received>last page every time.

BLIT (which stands for Berryman Logical Image Technique) is a short science-fiction story written by author David Langford. It features a setting where highly dangerous types of images called "basilisks" have been discovered; these images contain patterns within them that exploit flaws in the structure of the human mind to produce a lethal reaction, effectively "crashing" the mind like a typical computer.

The Flood / Re: Favorite guitar player?
« on: November 03, 2014, 02:34:15 PM »
Where do I even start..
There's two things I find enjoyable when I'm thinking of guitar playing, 1. How good it sounds and 2. How impressive it is.
Well, my favourite would be Hendrix. He wasn't the most technically gifted (not even close), but what I loved was his ability to project what was on his head onto the guitar with zero delay. He didn't give a shit about being all neat and tidy, he cared about getting the best sound of his guitar, which he often did.
Guthrie Govan does this for me too. His song "Remember when" is just beautiful. This guy can really play too.
Paul Gilbert and Steve Vai are probably the best players in the world at the moment. Vai knows every inch of the guitar, and Gilbert is... Just Gilbert. He taught Buckethead, I believe.
I've heard Malmsteen is responsible for popularizing guitar sweeping/ shredding. And he invented his own genre for crying out loud.
Jeff Loomis is the best shredder and sweeper I've ever seen. He takes the absolute piss.
Favourite blues guitarist has to be Rory Gallagher. Pity no one has heard of him, he supposedly taught queen guitarist Brian May everything he knows.
Fucking hell, there's too many. I could list off loads more ; Page, Knopfler, Bell, Walsh... The list never ends.

Still, if they had taken to giving some name to Cheat, how would we feel?
The fact that everyone here acts like this place is superior in every way to Bungie.net is really unattractive to some people. It gives a feeling that it's either here or there, there's no in-between. As such, it creates a sense of elitism among the users. "Enjoy your shitty, buggy site idiots". That's what it's like.
And like it or not, this place is dependent to a good extent on Bungie.net. What is it that Sep7agon offers people that aren't from Bungie? This place is pretty much made to cater for current/past members of that site, so if we want to actually keep the place going we'd probably not want to piss them off at every turn.
So here's the deal : how about we cut out all this "b.lind,/activision.net, etc" bullshit and just treat b.net as a different forum. Not inferior, just different. See what happens.
Spoiler
Also, I don't know everything that people from here post over there, but I highly suspect it also has something to do with it.
I don't know about "everyone here" but I'm just me, and like I just said 20 or so minutes ago, I have no qualms with the userbase of b.net. (ergo I don't go around calling them idiots). I'm also not concerned with whether or not they love or hate this place.

Again, I'm just wondering why we're still relevant over there.
Have a look at some of the threads, they're laughing at us.

Because there's a clear divide between here and bungie.
The whole "this place is better" attitude needs to stop if you want to see change. The fact that mods are using derogatory terms to even describe the site (see: title of this thread) is something that contributes to the elitist attitude people associate with this place. It's one of the big reasons people don't want to join.
I have no qualms with users. Bungie itself however is another matter. It doesn't take a genius to see what happened to that company and its attitude towards the community. As a derogatory term, "activision.net" says nothing about the userbase that still visits that site.
Still, if they had taken to giving some name to Cheat, how would we feel?
