neoclassical metal is pretty much objectively the best music nowadays.
the guys who write it are composers. the likes of Malmsteen and Vai understand music more than anyone. absolute geniuses.
I just can't get in to Malmsteen. He has no soul, man.
A lot of his tracks sound good, to me at least, simply because of how impressive they are. Like a good portion of his stuff wouldn't be to my taste either but I love listening to them just so I can go "wow, this guy's a freaking genius". I'd disagree that he has no soul though..
