so what exactly makes pirating different
software is slightly different the data can be copied and reproduced millions of times and the only cost would be time in the case of piracy the only tangible thing you're only stealing is bandwidth i dont pirate games but technically software companies aren't really losing anything, they're just not gaining anything out of it as opposed to stealing something like an apple, that person has lost that apple but the company still has their games

for perspective, axiom verge took 5 years to develop by one guy https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Axiom_Vergehe did the entire game himself, assets, animation, everything it turned out to be a pretty great game, but this is "just" a "2D side scroller" here's the thing our course tutor told me (comp sci), it actually doesn't take much to make a good game a simple idea is all you need

I generally think mods are dumb just because I shouldn't have to make modifications to any product to make it a good product if somebody is charging me full price for it.
I agree.
Even if I supported mods, though, I would still find settlements created out of the vanilla materials a lot more impressive than if you just used mods to add whatever shit you wanted to have into the game. Because that's what mods allow you to do--anything. And anyone can do it. So, it's a lot cooler, in my opinion, to be burdened with all these shitty limitations, yet still managing to make something awesome. It forces you to have a little more creativity.
i wouldnt say creativity but working under constraints is a skill usually these limits are only there because they dont want you to lag the heck out the game and what of the modders, some people get into game development that way

Just got into PC building and it's intimidating af for a newbie. Installing a new graphics card was a headache since my current PSU only has one fuckin' pcie connector and I was ignorant about alternate methods.
Someone people like high performance but are still turned off by having to build a PC. (also it's almost always more expensive, regardless.)

its not like i can get 10 AAA games on console for like £30
Steam sales aren't enough of a draw for the average casual gamer.
even if youre not in the sales you could just put a game on your wishlist and wait for it to go to £5 and just buy one game in the whole sale or if it's a random sale you'll still save more money than buying the same amount of games on console you could have a pretty good build for 600
