Gaming / Re: IMO on Halo 4.

Halo 4 is okay. Story is good, but fell apart for those who weren't familiar with the backstory of characters.
Like who, The Didact?

Why he hates humanity is covered in-game. Even more so in the Terminals.

The terminals in which you have to launch a separate application to view, therefore not being part of the game. And how is it explained in game? The librarian tells you that the prometheans are human and that the Didact fought a war against us and defeated us.
The Terminals being located outside the game were an understandable disappointment.

The Librarian describes how Humanity is one of the Didact's greatest enemies. Actually, she outright says that, right at the beginning of her speech. Then she shows the war against humanity, how much they destroyed before the Didact stopped their advance.

It's not that advanced of a concept, and honestly, everything doesn't need to be spelled out. There needs to be a little bit left out stories, save room for critical thinking, personal connections, and leave a desire to seek out more and learn the full backstory. 343i provided us with his motives and a simple backstory, which is more than the Covenant ever got in game, mind you, and gave us the tools to seek out more of the story.
It holds up quite well enough on its own, but Halo is a story spanning books, movies, comics, and more. Halo 4 is designed to be a part of an expanding story, and in turn won't explain everything right now. 343i has already said that the Didact is to be expanded on as a character still in the future.
