Could anyone explain how powering up and evolving works and what I should be doing?
every time you catch a Pokemon (let's say pidgey) you get dust and a few pidgey candy. You also get pidgey candy when you send one to the Proffesor. With (iirc) 25 pidgey candy you can evolve a pidgey into a pigeoto and give them a huge power boost. With a single candy and some dust you can just raise the power level without evolving
Is there any strategy to evolving or powering up Pokemon? So far I've been catching multiple of my Pokemon and sending the weaker one to the professor right away.
No Evolving and leveling up is the same net result. It's best to evolve them as soon as you can. It's not nearly as in depth as the actual main installment games.

Big gripe I have with this game is that your pokemon don't heal over time. You HAVE to get potions, which means you have to camp the stores. No Pokemon Centers or anything. You'd think they'd put those in since they're a staple of the franchise, but I guess that would conflict with going right back to a gym.
So maybe a full health in 24 hours thing is better.

I know, I heard. The commentary team was shit because they weren't talking like they naturally would (ie: acting), and it was shit. FIFA's commentary team, while not much diverse now a days, sounds natural.

I can't speak for baseball or povertyball, but Madden is an absolute blast. Some people don't like football because it's constantly stopping instead of continuous action, but to me it's almost a perfect game. It's not just about physical domination; but about tactics and play calling. Disguising formations, putting a man in motion, audibling based on defensive cover, zone blitz schemes, etc, it's an amazing chess match.
Madden has a shitty development team, and year after year they add and then remove features, and are also plagued by the same shitty animations that have been in games since 2007. What are you on about.
What features have they removed? The big deal with Madden 16 was the new WR and defensive back animations. It looks fine. What are you on about? I just want to know where the Brett Favre card is b
Boy where to start. I dunno about this most recent game, but I know half the canned animations were still in, the commentary team was still as bland and stupid as ever, presentation got even worse, training your player at the combine for superstar got worse (that entire gamemode has slowly fallen off), the rewind feature from 09 got removed (though it never should have been put in). A lot of things. They don't put enough in year after year to warrent $60 from me. I know the 25th anniversary one or whatever was the last time I ever really tried caring.
