Trump has potential to be the best president since Reagan. Why wouldn't you support him?
That's not a good comparison. Reagan was a shit president who made the GOP into the shit hole we all knew and loved until Trump finally broke it down and turned it into a workers party.
He could have been much worse, thank lucky stars he had the humility to work on the advice of economists when it came to economics.
I suppose I was wrong in saying shit. Mediocre would be the better word. Though his polities are arguably what started the slow trend of the death of the middle class. Pair that with his complete transformation of the GOP into something that morphed into its prime platform being a social war along with only making big businesses push around the smaller people and... yeah.

I'm in the process of ordering it. Reaching the point of no return soon.

If you're still building that PC just wait until that's built and then buy it. You'll have better mod support than you would on the console.
This is the smarter option.

I wouldn't say it's worth the money, but if you want to give Skyrim a go, and you're playing on console and want mods, then go for it.

That looks cool, but I never got end game tier to do cool armor combo's like that.

Currently I'm using thieves guild armor for that playthrough of thief.

Is it really end game tier? I'm only level 40, haven't even met Delphine yet.
It's been so long, I thought you got it at the end of the questline. Idk how you got it and didn't meet her. Idk, I'm just rping a thief in the thieves guild since their luck was shit and they resorted to a life of crime

I try to RP my characters but I always seem to just doing what I want :(

Though I did avoid killing any guards during my first ever werewolf transformation because I thought my character wouldn't do it
A key thing to do is to make a simple backstory for your character, and expand on it. It helps you stay in character. For example, a Nord sympathetic to the Stormcloaks wouldn't go to the Mage College or help any Imperial. He might also be a bit racist, so no buying from Khajit's, and even walking away from Dark Elf conversations.

The other major thing is realizing that one playthrough with that character doesn't mean you need to do everything. You'll find it's more satisfying if one character sticks to one style of things, rather than having to do every single quest.

I'm honestly having trouble taking anything seriously at this point from the NY Times and Washington Post after how they handled themselves this election.

It was a lot of media against Trump, yeah. And MSNBC is obviously the Fox News tier of the left. Well, mostly.

Morning Joe though it pretty nice since the dude looking in the camera is a republican, and since I give it a watch before I head to classes in the morning, I do remember them constantly saying Trump was gonna do better than anyone expected in the primaries, and then come election they said it is narrow, but he has a chance.

Anyway, I think everyone thought he was gonna lose due to almost all sorts of media, Fox News included, relying on polls so much. But obviously people can lie about polls, not answer, or other variables.

Thinking all people of one race are subjected to the same traits, stereotypes, or behavior.

The line is kind of non existent in a lot of instances because a thing called context matters

Skyrim Remastered is amazing I love it

I wonder if they vamped the difficulty up too, because the game is playing harder than Dark Souls
Lmao you're trash if you think Skyrim is hard

It is hard, I'm not some pussy that plays it on easy
Might be your build too. If you're deliberately handicaping yourself or sticking to one playstyle, rather than a min/max kinda thing, then hats off to you.

I'm already restricting myself to certain combat dynamics - if I get low on health, I don't just pull up my items screen and drink a billion potions to stay alive. It seems weird to freeze time and suddenly "drink" all that in a split second, so I've taken to only using healing spells and having to retreat a distance from combat to actually drink potions, kinda like estus flasks in Dark Souls. If I start combat without a shield, I never equip it, since it also seems odd for it to just "appear" in the middle of a fight. All that and other details etc

On top of that, I'm going to download some combat enhancement mods - better enemy AI, no health recharge, and a difficulty modifier making the game even tougher. Like I said, I'm no milk drinker
Good luck. It sounds fun. I should do the shield and potion thing.

even with a damage modifier this game is still bullet spongey as fuck, dunno how you guys do it
That's why you gotta be a stealth archer like everyone else m'boy. Those critical hits though.
Basically this also because the sword fighting is one of the dullest I've ever seen
Archery is just as boring.

I'm playing as a thief who uses destruction magic and a dagger, so I can't just shoot everyone from 100 yards out.
Archery is hilarious.

Piercing an arrow through someone's face and hearing them say "Who's there?" never gets old
It is. It just makes the game very boring. I actually only use archery for now, to hit a wall in the distance and draw the enemy there so I can sneak past them. At least until I get the shout that does that.

« on: November 13, 2016, 01:25:02 AM »
If you take out his more ridiculous stuff, it shouldn't be too bad. If he can do it, better Healthcare would be cool. We don't need a wall to block off Mexico. But immigration needs to be more strict. I also like that he wants to be more isolationist. I don't give a fuck about other countries. The US doesn't need to go around the world policing. Vietnam, Korea, Gulf War, Iraq War... We shouldn't have been in any of those. It's not our problem. Bringing job to the US instead of other countries is also good. Building up the infrastructure is too. We'll see what he can manage.
I don't disagree with most of what you've said, but I always find that people saying, "Just ignore the crazy stuff and it's fine," sound a bit silly.

Like, I'm go crazy hyperbole here and break Godwin's law, but isn't that technically every dictator ever? Hitler did wonders for Germany's infrastructure but he still killed a bunch of Jews (again, super hyperbole. I'm not saying the two are comparable).
That and people need to take into account the Gulf War was justified since another country invaded a sovereign nation, and us being the world super power, enforced that code.

Same with the Iraq War. Going in initially wasn't a bad thing, and it was handled very effectively. It's the events AFTER Saddam fell that things went to shit, particularly dissolving the entire damn government on almost all levels and leaving people in the military without a job, having weapons, and being very annoyed. I'm simplifying it, I know.

You gotta be creative yourself. Role playing/mods have made this playthrough a bit interesting for me. Done something I've never done before, picked a race I've never picked before. Trying to stick to what my character would do.

Trump is about as much a Republican as Hillary was a Democrat. Is anybody really surprised by this?
Not at all. I've said it forever, but both are New York Democrats, and Hillary was far more hawkish and exhibited more conservative traits than Trump did a lot of times.

I'm not sure it holds weight anymore though since the Republican party from what we knew, was from Reagan's impact, and Trump (thankfully) ended that.

Serious / Question regarding Egypt and secularism
« on: November 12, 2016, 12:19:37 AM »
So I was bored and did some wiki reading again, and remembered the whole thing with Morsi (the Muslim Brotherhood president). The main reason he got ousted was because he tried to suspend the constitution and give himself unlimited powers. Naturally, people got pissed, and the military gave him 48 hours to fix things or he be ousted. Naturally, as we all know, he was ousted.

Now I've thrown parallels to Morsi with Erdogan from Turkey. Both seem to have tried to do dictator like things (one succeeded), as well as promote more and more religion in the government (Egypt is far less secular, I know). Unsurprisingly, relations have worsened after he was ousted. But I digress.

It seems the new president, el_Sisi (who is far from perfect, I know) has really tried to push secularism in Egypt, going as far as calling for moderation on Islam, and removing religious text from textbooks, since they apparently glorified violence. He even went as far as wishing Christians a Merry Christmas, unheard of for an Egyptian leader.

So basically my question is, do you think Egypt is taking the same path Turkey did when the Republic first formed, where secularism is going to be taking a more prominent role? And secondly, do you approve of such things, and think that, despite a coup, Egypt could be a valuable ally to the United States?

I felt we could use a different discussion other than the election results.
