I don't think I've seen many showers, and I imagine having a shower would be annoying since it's always the same size, only flaccid and dangling around.

The only FF you played is arguably the worst one other than 2

what is wrong with you
It was only at FF13 that I actually took a look and thought it looked cool.

I'm planning on playing 15 though, is that one good?
I haven't played it, but apparently it is. I personally am not a fan of the direction the series is going in and miss the turn based combat.

They just go for different styles of combat, especially the parrying and spells. Dark Souls is roll away heaven, and the 3rd one made it so horribly OP and not punishing enough.

And yeah, there are some great quests in TW3. Idk how long you played into it, but invest more time in it.

Comparing any games combat to Dark Souls is rather silly since that's all Dark Souls really focuses on tbh. And even then, the combat in DS3 isn't that amazing.

Ignoring Verb and his black and white view of if it hits one mark, it's automatically bad because lol tits. Game of Thrones is also shit because of that.

It has better combat than TW2 thank god

The graphics are phenominal

The music is phenomenal

The writing puts every other RPG in this year or the last to shame to the point even the side quests have more depth than the main stories of other RPG's

Your choices in the game may or may not come out the way you intend them to come out, showing not everything is how it seems

It's not shy about the horrors of war (pillaging, hanging, rape, etc)

The invading empire isn't painted out as some evil bad faction who wants to kill everyone. They actually act like an empire and tax their citizens and help rebuild like a proper empire actually WOULD. This is one of the reasons I honestly fell in love with the game. It avoids the shittiest tropes we've grown used to.

And a bunch of other tiny things. The game is just fantastic.

We don't need another Cuban Missile Crisis scenario.
Well first off, it's nowhere near the Cold War level tensions it was during the CMC times in the slightest. Need I remind you that the USSR and the United States weren't even having official diplomatic talks at that time?

They're frosty, yes, but to suggest they're that bad is beyond silly.

I just beat Unity and uh... yeah. What a shitty story. What a horrible horrible story.

The only reason I'd say it's better than 3 is because of the gameplay and environment (i'm playing with all patches, so it was fine). It's the MGS V of Assassins Creeds though, and there are some plot holes/loose ends that just make me go "what?"

Syndicate is better imo.  Unity, and Arno in general, just felt like Diet Ezio
I felt the same way with Arno being Ezio lol

But no, Syndicate is objectively better. Better performance, better combat, brought back whistling from AC4, the dialogue is better, etc.

I'm already enjoying it more.

Funny, I just beat Unity tonight (the story is shit), and am playing Syndicate right now. Already 5 hours in and I like it better than Unity for a number of reasons, performance being a prime one, along with actual decent characters

The worst AC with Ezio was Revelations. And  I'd still say it's better than 3.

I'm officially in the dreaded second half, so I'm eager to see what everyone hates about it so much.
What is this meme?
I dunno, I'm wondering the same thing. Ask Luci?
The whole game was excellent for me. I liked every area.

?
A massive complaint is that the worlds aren't interconnected on the 4 paths in the end, and they all go down their own linear paths. That's fine (I guess) in Dark Souls 2 and 3 since that seems to be what they're going for, but a massive part of what made people love DS1 was how interconnected the world was, and how you were forced to memorize the map probably better than you'd memorize your own town. You'd learn the shortcuts, how to get to someplace faster, etc.

I would think this happened because at this point you are allowed to teleport between bonfires, and that's why it ended, but idk. As the video points out, the interconnected thing might just be a massive fluke simply because it's been going further away from it each game, but that's an entirely different discussion. I personally think teleporting between bonfires is the reason it gets completely ignored, since you can just teleport to one rather than take a few paths riddled with enemies back to it.

Other than that, some of the enemies are bullshit (the skeleton things in Tomb of Giants), especially the half dino... things, Bed of Chaos was a gimmick boss and an absolute failure, same with Ceaseless Discharge, and in general the areas are just less uninspired than everything else you've seen thus far. I'd argue the only one that stands out is Dukes Archives, and New Londo in terms of just the look of it.

Basically I'd say to sum it up, the worlds are linear (http://i.imgur.com/Z2JZhXh.png) and feel less inspired, and the bosses pale in comparison to the ones you fought in the 1st half.

I love and enjoy DS1 too much to bother with the others. I've played them but I put them down rather quickly after like an 1 hour or so, the first is too perfect to ruin with sub standard sequels
It's like you're completely ignoring the PvP or 2nd half of the game of DS1. DS1 fails horribly once you get the soul vessel. At least 2 and 3 are more consistent with their approach.
>Failing for the DS multiplayer meme
LMAO

Nigga just completely ignore that

The PvP is DkS2 is the actually good though
Yeah this, for the most part

Besides, it's part of the game and I'm going to include it as a whole to the game. It's so interwoven in the SP anyway that it's hard to just completely discredit it.

Speaking of Dks1 and the Lordvessel, were is Verb in it at this point? He was at OnS while I was still stuck on Capra.
At this point iv'e beaten Seath
Preparing to fight Seath. I entered his lair and got fucked in what I'm assuming was a scripted fight, and now I'm trying to escape wherever I ended up. I'll talk more about it in my thread whenever I decide to write another update.

Do people tend to hate the second half? Lost Izalith and Demon Ruins are my favorite in the game. It's really awe-inspiring to look up and think about the history of the place and what it means for the story. It gives me the same feeling as Ash Lake.
Lost Izalith is hated because of the boss there being a failure to the point even Miyazaki said so, along with the bullshit random enemies. That and the area to Nito is just a bitch.

The game is finished

DLC isn't going to fix anything either

I'm so done with dark souls and 3 just left a bad taste for my end to the series
By finished you mean they're not gonna be doing those patches pointed out? What a shame, cuz some of the bosses are pretty shit with their moveset.

I expect all the DLC to not hold a candle to Dark Souls 2's

Gaming / Dark Souls 3 issues discussion
« on: December 08, 2016, 02:04:50 AM »
I just want to say that I think the bonfire placement of Dark Souls 3 is just as shitty as Dark Souls 2. I could probably make a longer post about why I don't like Dark Souls 3 as much, such as relying on Dark Souls 1 armor sets too much, or pushing almost all of Dark Souls 2 stuff aside, the good and the bad, along with various other things.

But yeah, I know it's not finished yet, but I feel this game has gotten a lot less flak for it because Miyazaki is doing it, and he "can do no wrong", when really I think that's not really the case. It's a good thing he's taking a break from these games.

If you also have the time, watch an hour long video about it. Keep in mind what I posed is what I felt before even watching this. I still actually haven't finished it. Only like 20 mins in.

Edit: Here's my post from another thread

Spoiler
I don't. I've been keeping my mouth shut mostly since I'd be too lazy to get into the discussion again, but I think Dark Souls 2 was more a proper sequel than Dark Souls 3 since I personally feel Souls 3 was almost always just taking from the glory days of Dark Souls 1, without taking bold and new directions like 2 did.

I'm not saying 2 was the better game (though I think the PvP experience in DS2 is the best in the series), because it had its fair share of issues (ADAPTABILITY AS A SKILL WHYYYY), but it felt like the devs actually tried to take a risk or two. Dark Souls 3 felt like almost all the armor was from Dark Souls 1, or they were flashing things from DS1 in your face going "hey guys remember this? Member???"

I felt the same way with Pokemon X/Y, though not to as massive of a degree. They things they shoved in your face in X/Y from gen 1 was terrible.

Edit: And for what its worth, ignoring the first DLC of DS2, I felt they learned from their mistakes and took the criticism to heart and made two great DLC's that helped the overall product. Now we compare yet for DS3 yet since all the DLC isn't out yet, and there will be more patches along the way, but yeah.

Gaming / Re: Battlefield 1

I have to wonder if people who say BF1 isn't as in depth as past battlefield games have actually played past battlefield games.

"I'm just going to make a vague statement instead of explaining my point and adding to the discussion."

Please, elaborate.

I don't think I really have to considering what you've posted. If you seriously think that BF1 and SWBF play the same you've never played either and are probably basing this off of youtube videos you've seen or something.

Also anyone who thinks that BF3 and 4 had depth because they had a shit ton of useless crap to unlock (and I say useless because there were maybe 10 viable weapons in the game and each one had one or two optimal set ups attachment wise) doesn't know what depth is.
Yeah my issue with Battlefield 4 was that there were so many guns, that most of them were useless and people only used the same 3 or 4 in each class.

And then they just randomly hide unlocks behind their stupid battlepacks, which was just silly when it came to things that weren't cosmetic. Other than that, yeah. Battlefront isn't at all like Battlefield aside from like, the running animation. The biggest one being Battlefront is so casual you don't even have to ADS to stay accurate.

Stereotypical anime fans are sexually deprived and socially inept, so it'd make sense that the medium caters to their fantasies. And so it'd also make sense to have a bunch of advertisements showing SEXY HENTAI BABES to rake in money from people dumb enough to waste money on a 1/6th scale cat girl figure they can splash their cum onto.
Japan's population rate is also stagnating, so they're trying to get young males into sex by sexualizing the fuck out of everything. But what animation studios don't realize is that having so much perverted shit in anime will only exacerbate that "problem"--why go through the effort of fucking a real girl when they could just stay inside and fuck their dakimakura all day?

not to mention the overexposure to sexual media desensitizes the youngins
Sexual content in both Japan, and Europe, is not nearly as big a deal as it is in the states, where we show violence to kids at the same age. Blood spewing everywhere, GTA, movies, shows, etc. It's flipped.

You're acting like anime is contributing a lot to that though. It's providing them an escapism really, and it's not just boys. Girls are the ones who are not trying to settle down and get married, and a shit ton of them (I forget the statistic) up to 27 are still virgins.

A huge problem with it is the culture in Japan. You're expected to work hard every day for your entire life, not have much lax time, and the wife is expected to either get into the business world as well, or stay at home and raise their kids, while the father works himself to death (in Japan if you don't have a job and aren't working all the time, you're seen as a degenerate). They never have time for each other.

The new generation of Japan, more digital than ever, easily has access to the other nations cultures and tendencies with work, and every day lives, and it possibly appeals to them more than what they have at home. They're rejecting the things in place and saying "I'd rather be single and free than married and bogged down my whole life".

Anime/mobile dating games may play a hand in it, but the issue is far more pressing than just some entertainment medium. It's a cultural one down to the very core that Japan is struggling with.
