The Flood / Re: 2018 and I'm surprised Sapphire is still relevant
« on: March 04, 2018, 03:00:33 PM »
Can someone from Sapphire explain to me what ideologies/beliefs they considered bannable, and why does everything on there seem to boil down to politics, at least from an outside perspective that's what it seems like.

I can understand the dislike of banter/rudeness, but what I don't understand is what seems like the very firm political thought that controls the group, and the apparent disdain for any opposing thought.
the only thing that gets people banned is bigotry.

if someone says something that is racist, homophobic, transphobic, sexist, classist, ableist, etc then they'll be warned or banned.

36
they dont let you be overtly bigoted/throw around slurs

If people genuinely care about whatever's left of these communities and the future of them, they should start cooperating with each other or say goodbye because Sapphire and Sep7agon are going to be dead in the near future.
I bet you sapphire is still around 10 years from now

people have been saying it's gonna die for like 8 years now, and it's never even come close to being dead lol

38
why not just join and find out yourself then

all but confirmed that the new preview image is the correction. it looks slightly better in hd, but it's completely lacking the intimidation and dynamic art the original had. i don't care if it's more correct, anatomically -- it looks worse.
yeah. sometimes it's just okay to exaggerate anatomy for dramatic effect. not everything needs to be perfectly accurate.

Still moderately salty over the way the Zamasu saga ended. My boy Trunks has had a SHIT life, they should have given him the fucking victory goddamnit!
I really wish they'd done it this way: when Trunks is building up the spirit sword, it shows everyone dead in the other world donating their power, focusing all their hope on Trunks, including Future Gohan and Future Bulma, and then Trunks slices Zamasu in half, just like he did, but that's it, that's the end of the battle, Zamasu is destroyed by the sheer power of hope.

episode looked fine

quality was maybe a bit below recent episodes, but ultimately this show has come a long way in terms of art and animation, when an episode like this is what gets people complaining

I don’t understand why Yammamoro has deteriorated so much

his old art was just so much better

i think under Nakatsuru he had to perform better but once he became the defacto head of Dragon Ball behind Toriyama he just sort of let himself go and stopped looking at his work critically. also the fact that he didn't really do anything after GT didn't help. an artist's skills can deteriorate quickly if they dom't maintain.
well, hopefully seeing Takahashi's work on the show puts things into perspective for him.

i fucked up and hit edit instead of reply and i couldn't salvage your old post. sorry about fucking that reply chain.

basically what i said in the post i accidentally edited was that scheaduling issues and him not having the time to do his work are bad management. none of the other studios i mentioned are plagued with the problems toei comes with and this includes when you compare their one shot ovas and movies. if they actually had good planning and project management their best people would have more than enough time do their work, but as i mentioned before toei just kind of shits stuff out because they know people will buy it anyway.

other studios have some pretty extensive planning stages before any project actually gets started. studios like ufotable will typically spend a few months planning things out before they actually get started on a new season and it really shows in the final product.

i just pulled a couple random images out of a folders here for an example

dragon ball isn't a seasonal anime though, so you can't really do that kind of planning that you can for a seasonal show

Also, is this the first time we've seen the lightning sparks in SSJB?
nah there’s occasionally some sparks at dramatic moments

Spoiler
I'm pissed that 18 is out but that final fight and 17's shield punch was kinda fucking awesome

really, it just annoyed me that she sacrificed herself and didn't just propel herself back to the stage with 17 like Krillin already did for her earlier

I mean, I guess at least it can be said that an enemy did not eliminate her, and that she was the last woman standing in the whole tournament

What do you guys think the best Dragon Ball Z movie is

Probably Fusion Reborn right
Battle of Gods

Why

I'd say it's pretty weak. ROF was better.
its the only one that really has a real plot, and it introduces important and great characters in beerus and whis

Dragon Ball Fusions actually had one called "Android 1718"

yeah I’ve seen it

always thought that design sucked tbh. looks more masculine than even 17, and the clothes are seemingly just random and barely based on their outfits

the hair is just completely random, resembling neither of their hairstyles
