I don't feel like sitting through 70+ episodes of catchup so I'll probably just watch the scenes like the Hit fight on Youtube
there's a lot of stuff you can skip if you don't want to watch it all skip episodes 1-27 (movie retellings), episode 30 (clips episode), episodes 44 - 46 (filler), and episodes 68-76 (more filler) though I would recommend watching episodes 70-72 because it's good filler stuff (baseball game and Hit stuff)

dragon ball eng dubs have always been better than the jap dubs max lol
that's not at all true for the original run of the series and the old dubs. while I do prefer the dub just because it's what I watched first, it's got a lot of problems and inaccuracies. in 2017? well it may be true now that the dub is of comparable quality to the original version but it wasn't in the past.

Super Saiyan 2 was never really meant to be a "5th grade". all the other grades were the idea that Vegeta first stated, to ascend beyond a Super Saiyan, but they failed. they did not truly ascend.
that's what it all built up to. Gohan truly ascended beyond a Super Saiyan, unlike all the others. Super Saiyan 2 was the next level, the other 'grade' forms were just forced power increases on the original form.
