Does Scroobius Pip count as a rapper?

He's pretty great, if you ask me.

I really don't think she's attractive.

Her face reminds me of pancake batter.

Serious / Re: NASA has to make an unmanned mission to Europa, by law
« on: March 23, 2016, 09:30:02 PM »
Give the nerds at Nasa some thinking time and crack a whip and say "money" as you point at corporations and then to the asteroid fields in our system, and those two will find a way.
That operation would require technology and resources that aren't practical whatsoever to send to Europa right now. It's not happening any time soon, and it's not as simple as just "Well NASA people are smart, they can figure it out if you give them a lot of money." There are a ton of challenges associated with pulling off something like this.

Serious / Re: Do you disagree with scientific consensus on anything?
« on: March 22, 2016, 03:29:56 PM »
I'm skeptical on things like the big bang, string theory, and time dilation.
String Theory has no actual observational evidence (That I'm aware of), but it's a theoretically possible concept based off of math worked through in quantum physics. I have extremely limited knowledge on that sort of thing, but I can at least feel comfortable talking about the Big Bang's observational evidence (Or at the minimum, the age of the universe, which is something I definitely feel comfortable talking about because of studying stars and their properties- Including their evolution and age). I'm not sure what skepticism you could possibly have about time dilation; could you explain more? I've done Lorentz factor problems (Which just means time dilation and its value in comparison to "Normal" time) and can maybe explain to you more about how that process works.

Time dilation is a reasonably well-understood process, and I can possibly even show you some of the math involved behind how it's worked out. I mean, time dilation is literally a required process to account for when using GPS to calculate your location; the difference in time experienced between a satellite and someone on the ground, over time, can drastically reduce the accuracy of your information. Clocks definitely run slower when you're moving faster.

Talking more from something I know as well, gravitational redshift, a readily-observable property of light emitted from any object (Like a star), is entirely due to the process of time dilation.

Actually, muons that enter our atmosphere are only capable of doing so because they experience time much slower than us, too. I'd have to pull up a few notes from weeks ago but I can go more into that if you'd like.

Nothing that I can think of. More importantly, I'm a 19 year-old college freshman, I have no qualifications that'd make it even reasonable for me to doubt scientific consensus.

Serious / Re: Is it possible to use drugs responsibly?
« on: March 20, 2016, 08:59:59 PM »
I personally believe that drugs can be used responsibly, but there are some drugs that I wouldn't recommend anyone ever do, not even once. I'm pretty tame when it comes to putting things into my system; I drink rarely (Don't even enjoy it), and smoke weed occasionally, but that's pretty much it. I'd try mushrooms if given the chance but it hasn't come up yet. I don't see too much of an issue with the way I handle myself.

Have you had their burgers? It's fast food with nice seats.
Not in years, I don't eat beef that much anymore. And even then, the burgers there are definitely better than McDonald's, no contest.
