The Flood / Re: makeup is so disgusting
« on: August 18, 2016, 06:03:40 AM »
A little bit is fine if you're going to some fancy occasion, but I hate when girls basically put a full pound of stuff on their face to look "Good." To me, it ends up looking extremely unattractive because it just isn't representative of what a normal human face should look like. But I don't think that makeup is some terrible thing just in concept.

All forms of art are amazing, and I'd argue mathematics is also a genuinely beautiful description of nature that humans have developed.

335
There is nothing that kind of person can do to absolve themselves of how terrible they are.
Looking at some buff guy and thinking "Ah, he must be a shitty, arrogant human being" is incredibly shallow and misguided.
Quote
And why am I adamant about cuteness being the end-all in physical attractiveness? Ask anyone, being cute is the most appealing trait in humans, puppies, anime characters, whatever.
I personally fail to see the importance of it, or the rationality in basing my entire appearance on something like that.
Quote
Why would you ever want to be all gruff, hairy, and gross when you could be small and adorable?
Being buff, to countless people, is not gross. You are absolutely not obliged to find it attractive, but you sound unbelievably pretentious and rude whenever you speak so lowly about the idea of having a masculine physique. I don't have any issues with the way that you handle your body and argue that people should strive to look however they please (Assuming they aren't doing physical damage to themselves like being obese, or something), so when you talk so begrudgingly, it's sort of hypocritical. You chastise masculinity and the what you feel it symbolizes (Arrogance, pretentiousness, etc), but then you go and do the same thing, just with a different body type.

336
Generalizations can be more than helpful. If 90% of black people suddenly became criminals, would it be bad to be wary when you see one? It's not fair to the 10% who aren't, but a negative opinion isn't an indictment or a bullet.
Luckily, we aren't talking about criminality, and 90% of men aren't misogynistic pigs, so you aren't justified in suddenly feeling a sense of anger and revulsion whenever you come across a man. Generalizing all men under that description is ignorant and wrong. I understand that generalization can be a somewhat reasonable tool under certain circumstances, but this really isn't one of them.
Quote
And being cute is the second most important thing in a person, besides being chill.
I asked you why. What is your objective reasoning behind that statement and why are you so adamant about denouncing physical attributes that signify masculinity?

337
No person is the same as the next, I'm talking generally. And generally, there are FAR more men with those traits than there are women.
But you still aren't speaking about men on a case-by-case basis, like you should with anybody. Sure, you'll find men do some disagreeable things more often than women, but the opposite is equally true, and both are probably the products of societal atmospheres rather than raw nature. On a big enough scale, both sexes can probably be found to just do little "Wrong" things more than the other (Just because we're often put in sex-specific situations), but that's okay. We're all equal and should just strive to iron out our unnecessary differences. Generalization is just a bad thing to do, dude.
Quote
And yes, physical appearance does matter. Not how "sexy" you are, how cute you are.
Why do you say this like it's a fact? I know you don't like men with big muscles, and of course you aren't obligated to, but then why do you turn around and badmouth the idea like it's some objectively appalling characteristic? How come being "Cute" is really really important to you? What makes it favorable?

338
They look disgusting physically
I mean, that's your opinion and you're entitled to have it, but why would something so superficial really matter to you? Especially if you're going to be arguing that one sex is superior to the other, you're really going to dig at something so shallow and unimportant as their appearance? That just seems bizarre, it'd be like arguing one person is just "Better" than someone else because they're more physically attractive. Wait... No, that's exactly what you're doing. The heck's wrong with you?
Quote
They're mentally unstable to the point of being dangerous (seeing sex and and women as trophies to be won, being needlessly aggressive when an insult is perceived, acting completely to benefit the ego and their "honor")
"Dangerous" is quite the stretch, and I think you'd find that any male who was raised by a reasonable set of parents isn't going to approve of the idea that women are "Trophies" just to be tossed around for fun. Both sexes are very fond of the idea of casual, open sexual encounters- Women can just as easily view men as nothing more than objects to have a good time with. It has everything to do with upbringing and culture, and very little to do with the intrinsic properties of men. Come on, dude, trying to pass off every single guy as some misogynistic meathead is pretty dumb.
Quote
They generally lack tact completely, starting social conflicts openly instead of holding their tongue and talking about it among friends later
I've seen this sort of behavior equally in both men and women. You'd need to give me some sort of statistical proof that men openly begin social conflict more often than women, which I'm doubtful you'd be able to give me...

339
You can fight for equality under the law while also recognizing one sex as the superior one.

It's no different than despising racism and the KKK, but still fighting tooth and nail for the right of their members to spout whatever hate they want.
Okay, so... What's wrong with men?

340
You don't even post here, so frankly you really don't know what you're talking about.
Well, the overarching anti-masculinity shtick you seem to be so famous for is something I can very easily weigh in on, so... I feel like I can definitely say a thing or two and have some idea of what's going being talked about. Just saying.
yeah its not a schtick, it's a lifestyle

men are disgusting and terrible
You seem unnecessarily bitter about this. I understand you have strong opinions regarding feminism and the equal treatment of men and women (Which I 100% agree), but I don't think that it's fair or rational for you to have this vehement disapproval of men and everything that is associated with them. Just... Why? It's silly. It also seems somewhat hypocritical for you to argue so strongly for equality but be so outspoken about hating men.

Commander (ENTJ-T)

84% Extroverted
83% Intuitive
55% Thinking
56% Judging
38% Assertive

"ENTJs are natural-born leaders. People with this personality type embody the gifts of charisma and confidence, and project authority in a way that draws crowds together behind a common goal. But unlike their Feeling (F) counterpart, ENTJs are characterized by an often ruthless level of rationality, using their drive, determination and sharp minds to achieve whatever end they've set for themselves. Perhaps it is best that they make up only three percent of the population, lest they overwhelm the more timid and sensitive personality types that make up much of the rest of the world – but we have ENTJs to thank for many of the businesses and institutions we take for granted every day."

343
Oh, this is the thread you were talking about.

Yeah, you're being a little goofy and excessive.

you buy into the macho complex
Does having large muscles and being in-shape make me some sort of shining example of a "Macho" complex? I would argue that's much more centered around the cocky personality and misogyny than anything else, neither of which describe me. I just like to look good and feel healthy. Disliking me for that is silly af tbh dude

Partly because I'm allergic to cats, mostly because cats are assholes.

Oopsy.
It was a really goofy phase but ultimately I don't feel any shame from it because it was harmless, and I'm sort of happy that I went through it. Was an interesting part of my life, lol.

I mean, spreading our influence out of the solar system wouldn't be so frightening if we, as a species, weren't so immature and pathetic.
We seem to be getting better as time goes on, to be honest. That reality is often masked by the rampant coverage of everything horrendous going on in the world but, undeniably, this is the most prosperous, peaceful, and humanitarian age humanity has ever seen. Obviously there's plenty of room for improvement, but luckily, that improvement seems to be continuously rolling in.

the more masculine you look, the uglier you are
Dude, what's your problem?

You're really annoying. All you do is spout this anti-masculine stuff whenever someone hints at a trace of it being attractive. We get it, you think buff men are gross- Why are you so persistently vocal and obnoxious about it?

This is my 4th time asking you and you still haven't responded, is it true that Anita Sarkeesian made a porno when she was in college?
I'm interested.
