The Flood / Re: For those Star Wars Fans
« on: September 22, 2015, 10:39:51 PM »
I think most fans would be okay with a Force-ghost appearance. That could be worked into the film very nicely, to be honest. With so much of Episode VII being focused on the villain's obsession with Vader, it'd be interesting to see the consequences in the next film, and perhaps what Anakin has to say.

« on: September 22, 2015, 06:55:15 PM »
Actually, for reference, somebody find me the "Multiple times" that it was stated she isn't coming back.
Halo 4 Visual Guide and Halo 4 Epilogue description are the two I remember off the top of my head
You mean how it describes the "Death" of Cortana?

Characters dying don't mean they can't come back in fiction, especially considering she's an AI.

Jesus fucking Christ, when will people accept that Cortana is dead. D. E. A. D.

Deeeeeeaaaad. Dead dead dead dead dead.

FUCKING DEAD
She's definitely gonna come back in 6.

It has been fucking stated multiple times that she is not coming back.

In unrelated news, finished last light. Fuckig brilliant book. Sheds some light on Ash, Mark and Olivia's KIA status and a certain Jiralhanae is introduced that I believe is going to be very crucial in the near future.

spoilerific spoilers
The Gammas are classed as KIA because they are officially - but they're working covertly now as assassins. Also, a Jiralhanae character gets shot in the hand and gets it partially healed, but presumably gets some kind of artificial replacement later. My assumption the Halo Wars 2 guy was the Army Commander from HW1 is now being questioned.
[/quote]I'm not buying it. She'll be back.

That's... Not true at all.

The Flood / Re: What will you tell your kids about Santa?
« on: September 22, 2015, 09:16:03 AM »
Yeah, sure. I don't remember being particularly disappointed when I figured out Santa wasn't real. And, more specifically, it wasn't an "Oh, aha!" moment, it was a very gradual erosion of my belief that was never influenced by anything other than my own realizations.

what do you bois think of the new frigate design they pushed in halo 4?
Terrible, and jarring, considering Halo 4 starts in FUD, yet looks absolutely nothing like what it looked like in Halo 3. I spent about ten minutes after that cutscene just trying to figure out how the ship feel apart to end up looking the way it did. Then I realized, "Oh, they just made it... A completely different... Type. Of. Ship."
It was changed solely for gameplay reasons, because of how small the actual FuD is. The Halo 3 design is still the canonical version.
Pillar of Autumn has ridiculous scale changes for The Maw, but nobody cared.
Except the PoA didn't have a ridiculous design, and you never used the exterior as a play space
What are you saying had a ridiculous design? I'm saying there wasn't a single point in changing the design of FUD in Halo 4, they could've just scaled it differently, like the do with a ton of shit in Halo.

I don't think those two kilometers were a straight line most of the time.
If you look at the scale of the crew of the POA in the first cutscene of CE, it is nowhere near as long as The Maw implies it is.

The Flood / Re: Do you believe in the multiverse?
« on: September 21, 2015, 12:46:22 PM »
There's no conclusive evidence suggesting that we live in a multiverse. So no, I don't believe so.
String and M theory help to explain it, and it also helps explain how the big bang initiated.
Neither String Theory or M Theory are confirmed to be true. Unless they are, there is no rational, scientific reason to assume they exist.

I  just worry about the family reaction to the basic notion of a sky burial, you know?

"Yeah mom and dad if I die before you guys, throw my rotting cadaver on top of a mountain and let the elements eat away at my flesh until I have become one with the Earth.

Serious / Re: World Peace?
« on: September 19, 2015, 11:46:44 PM »
While we're in the most peaceful history in human history, with no major nations fighting each other directly (this has not happened since the Pax Romana during the Roman Empire days, which is saying a LOT), I do not think we will ever have world peace.

We will always have the tribal instinct in us, and humans will never want to be united under a single, global banner. I bring that up because I believe that would be the only way world peace could ever happen. Otherwise you'll have nation states competing with one another.

Still, we shouldn't be so focused on something as fantasy esc as "World Peace", and focus on improving what we already have. WW2's post events gave us the oddest gift in that we've created a weapon so powerful, everyone is afraid to fight one another.

I'm uhh rambling. oopsie~
LOOKS LIKE WE'VE GOT OURSELVES A CLASSICAL REALIST OVA' HERE.

« on: September 18, 2015, 11:06:42 PM »
I tend not to remember much about films if I didn't like them.

...I... Uh...

There was this kind of cool action scene in The Expendables where Dwayne Johnson (I think, could've been somebody else) lifts his leg up after putting an enemy on the floor, then kicks it down right over the dude's neck, breaking it and killing him.

...That's all I have.

Yeah but his sources about immigrants and crime are about Mexicans and the US, where hispanic immigrants don't want to commit crimes because they actually will be arrested and/or deported, unlike those Islamic pedophiles in the UK.
Aren't you the one who actually hates Muslims?
Yup. I joined the army just so I could go on a crusade in Iraq and rid the world of the Mooslamic menace.
That's retarded

i like how thinking marriage is dumb instantly makes you a permavirgin lol

lol no its fucking retarded, get over it
How old are you?
19
You're probably gonna end up getting married, dude.
what would you have said if he turned out to be like, 40

"you're just bitter because you haven't found someone yet", no doubt

idk why it's so hard to accept that some people don't like the idea of marriage
That's why I asked how old he was. I expected him to be around my age, and I was right. That's the typical demographic for a forum like this, and I'm not keen on most people's expectations for their future relationships in high school or college. And a good try, but that's definitely not what I would have said.
