Invasion was one of the few things Bungie did right with Reach despite only having 2 maps.
Spire, Boneyard, and Breakpoint. Three?

(Unless you aren't counting Breakpoint because it was DLC)
Breakpoint only showed up in matchmaking for like a month and was never seen again unless you got EXTREMELY lucky or played with 12 people you knew who had the DLC.

When 343 took over the rights of Halo, they added those garbage Forge maps for Invasion.
I'd be lying if I said I didn't enjoy some of those forge maps >.>

You're my competition in astronomy knowledge.

Want to settle this with a fight? Winner lives?

Competitive arena modes were what I cared about when I played Halo seriously.

But those days have passed. I want to have fun, not play on the edge of my seat in a sweatfest like pretty much everything in Halo 5.

I need social playlists, more gamemodes, and better map variety. Customs are what keep Halo's community alive, and they're dead right now because 343 made poor creative decisions while prioritizing what content was going to be in this game at launch.

Bravo is always on /r/Halo, and he assures people that literally everything on that subreddit is read thoroughly, and they know what people are saying. I don't doubt that, because Bravo's a really good community manager, but I doubt 343 higher-ups actually listen to what he tells them.

"Okay Bravo, what's the feedback on the game?"

"Well, everyone says the core gameplay is really good. But they're disappointed with the lack of customs game options, gamemodes, map variety, and social playlists."

"Mmmm, okay. But we know better than them, so let's just keep doing what we're doing. We are the game designers, after all!"

"B-But the community says-"

"FUCK THE COMMUNITY. THE PEOPLE WANT REMIXES AND BREAKOUT."
its worth noting that the vast majority of the people on that subreddit are mouthbreathing retards. its actually painful to read through most of the popular threads there.
I mean, I generally agree with many of the complaints that people post there, so I guess I'm a "Mouthbreathing retard," right?

Speaking of the community I wonder if we're going to get a custom games browser this game which has been something people wanted for years.
I wouldn't get your hopes up.

343 isn't known for actually listening to the great ideas that the community has.

i think ive noticed a pattern when it comes to h5. the competitive players love it, but the casuals tend to hate it.
It's not as simple as that.

Casual and competitive players alike are pissed at the lack of content in the game, specifically maps and gametypes. That being said, the fact that almost everything is ranked does cater to the competitive scene more than any previous Halo game. More social players (Such as myself, because I stopped playing Halo competitively years ago) are pissed because literally everybody is trying their hardest in matches, and we don't want that. We want to dick around and have fun. There aren't any playlists except Warzone (Which has three maps) to exercise that desire.
you're not telling me anything i dont already know.
All you said was "Casual players seem to hate it, and competitive players seem to love it." Which isn't the full story, so I expanded on it. How was I suppose to know what else you knew?

Multiplayer gameplay is sick, just prepared to be bored of it after a month because there is literally zero variety whatsoever. 343 took ten steps forward in the core game mechanics, and in terms of community/customs/map variety, took about sixty steps back. It's so disheartening to me, because while I love the base gameplay, there's so little substance that it barely matters.

Also, no social playlists besides Warzone (Which has a whopping three maps). As somebody who's done with competitive Halo, this is a giant slap to my dick.

Or, we can realize this content model was planned from the beginning and wasn't done to reach a Q4 release.

Scenario 1: What you're saying is false:

Then 343 rushed the game.

Scenario 2: What you're saying is true.

Then they are fucking idiots.
Yes, because in the real world there are only two possible scenarios and if people don't cater to your every need, they are idiots.

You're not seriously suggesting they thought releasing a game with less content than destiny at launch was a 10/10 idea?

When I buy a game, I expect a completed product at launch. Not six months later.
Maybe you should've done research into the game before you bought it then? Not my fault or concern you're assmad.

I guess it's my own fault for assuming 21 multiplayer maps means 21 individual maps. Or for thinking the game would have some incentive to play other than grinding for scout warthogs.
Well, yeah.

After Halo 4, everyone seemed to vow to never again buy into Halo blindly.

Well, here we are at Halo 5, and look what's happened.

I never did that, though. After halo 4, I thought 343 were a good studio. But I guess schlerf leaving and a new attitude to make the game only ranked has made 343 very different from the people who made 4.
Throughout Halo 5's development in the past year, 343i's been continually stating that they never want Halo 4 to happen again.
Good for them, they made even worse decisions with Halo 5  : )
Yet you managed to make an equally bad decision by buying Halo 4 and then Halo 5.

Let the hate flow through you...
Oh my God

343 literally lied about the content in this game

Don't try to defend them. You can't. They're morons.

"I'd kill a person."

Th'fuck is wrong with you guys? Why?
why not
Why?
Probably because you're not really killing them? Everything gets washed away. Death is the permanent end of existence, which isn't applicable here.
That implies people would just go around killing each other if there weren't any consequences. Which I don't think is agreeable at all.

The extent of Halo 5's content is pathetic. Everybody knows it. Stop trying to defend 343.

They bullshitted us by arguing that "Remixes" were total maps, and they had the fucking autism to say the same about Forge maps. They're stupid, stupid people.
