 That's right, I played the original on its original hardware. None of that remastered shit or MCC. Just looking at the title screen, I couldn't help but think "How the fuck did such a franchise with a simple premise become such a massive clusterfuck?" Halo CE was simple but fun with its first game, with good gameplay, great story telling, and an excellent soundtrack, granted the multiplayer wasn't huge in the first game, but believe it or not, there was a time where people didn't buy a game for its multiplayer only, this game was purely bought for the campaign, and multiplayer in this was suppose to be like a party game with friends, and that's what it was before MLG was even a thing. Just looking back at this game and even trying to compare it to Halo 5 is almost fucking impossible, Halo now has an identity crisis and its very nature has really dropped a new low. People are right. The Halo Franchise is dead. There will never be another game like Halo CE again, or Halo 2, or Halo 3 even. Which is why I'm glad that they happened and we still have the games to enjoy. And to anyone who's never really played through the original trilogy and has an interest in the story, if you want a pure unaltered experience, I strongly recommend getting and playing each game on its native hardware, but if you want it all on one system, MCC is a great way to play through the entire original trilogy. R.I.P Halo. I just have a feeling Halo 6 is going to be nothing more but a late abortion of a Halo game. So for the sake of discussion, when was the first time you played Halo 1? Personally, I was 10 years old, played the demo on my OG Xbox back in 2002/2003, but I didn't get the game until I was 12.

You have to understand the difference between "hating" mods, and people just not talking about them.
For example, fans of Bethesda games typically have the motto "If it don't work, or it's not there, mod it". The Nexus alone has literally millions of mods for the fairly recent (>2000) Fallout and Elder Scrolls games.
I play Battlefront II (the classic one) and Deus Ex with texture remastering/"HD" mods because straining my eyes blasting what I think is a green dinosaur against similarly green jungle on the blurry moon of somewhere for the glory of the Republic or staring at a polygonal cyborg potato-faces for several hours having conversations with them about the dystopia we live in is not my idea of relaxing entertainment. But I don't have to mention it or link to the mods, there's already hundreds of dedicated places for that.
For hardware modding like chipping consoles (for all I'm aware of is to play pirated games or cheat) or re-skinning your console into GLADOS, most of us don't go past spray painting a controller or putting stickers on the side.
I will say though, if you and Chally want to 1v1 on Halo again, but neither of you can be arsed to do it on a dusty '360, there is Eldorito for PC. Why make it so hard going to arrange, when you can make it easy?

So if its only Verbatim, why don't others partake in discussions of mods or have threads of there own? There's a difference between being "anti-modding" and just not really caring much. I don't have anything against modding at all and did some of it myself way back in the day, but I don't think anyone here is really interested. Unless there's some really major mod being released, I don't think you'll find many people who will care about RGH consoles and such. Maybe an Xbox One, but not a console as old as the 360.
Well as of right now there isn't really any support for Xbox One heavy modding, at least that I'm aware of, and the 360 is still an active console. But I understand.

Also, there are benefits to having LiNK on an RGH console. You don't need to pay for LiNK where as for Live you do, if more people dropped Live and went to an RGH route, LiNK would be more populated.
Thing is LiNK itself requires an RGH/Jtag. I wish non RGH users could have it. Its a great alternative to Xbox Live
I could get on XBL with a stealth server, but its not worth the risk. LiNK has its own system in place to weed out cheaters in a public room, so if you wanna do modded lobbies or games, it has to be in a private room.
Hardly anyone plays Halo 3 on LiNK, Halo Reach and COD are more populated.

Not true. I do like to earn armor, it gives me incentive to play more. I legitimately earned my Recon via the Vidmasters on my XBL account. Check back my old gamertag Decimator Omega on B.net if you think I'm full of it. 343 did not give me my Recon. It would have been nice to earn Bungie Body, but that's the problem. There's a TSA system in the game's code that won't allow you to have said armor, and the completion side in me goes crazy for that, because I have all the Elite Armor, legit, but not all the Spartan armor. Even though the Bungie body was for Employees only, I still can't say I have all the Spartan armor because I don't. So the only way to have it is to null out the TSA system all together. This in return allows all profiles to have all armor, because the code isn't active. That and it also sucks that the only achievement I need to have all the achievements in Halo 3 is 2 for 1. Nobody plays Lone Wolves anymore, and if they do, its so rare to get a map with the Spartan Laser now. If Microsoft gave us a reason to give Halo 3 multiplayer replay value for example, they could make the Bungie Body earnable since there's no code to unlock it via Achievement. Now, I am well aware there was a Starkathon contest back in mid 2009, my Xbox red ringed and I didn't even have the chance to enter in that because I didn't have the money for another Xbox at the time let alone any friends to do the challenge, but I can assure you that if my Xbox didn't red ring, I can guarantee you that Pope Rex would not have won and I would have earned my flames.
