ITT: Let's antagonize Deci because he voted for Trump.
That's not what anyone is saying. They're just saying you getting your job isn't related to Trump at all, along with Obama, who's policies on trade and whatever else job related are still in effect.

And even if Trumps policies were in effect, places like the one you applied to are down to the state level. So whoever your governor is, or local officials around your area, you should be thanking them.

Oh.

Right because intelligent people can't have different political views. Anyone that you thought was intelligent who voted for Trump is now considered to be a dumbass right?

I think that's what Jive is trying to say about the anti-trump people.

The only person I just don't talk about it with is Flee, because him and I would get into very heated arguments before and its not worth fighting over it.
I don't think I've ever seen you defend your position in supporting Drumpf.

I'm just going to say this. I'm going to make a followup call on Wednesday. I'm likely going to get the job. If I do, I thank Based Trump.

I just got back from my interview at the machine shop. I'm not going to disclose the name of the business because I know most of you would Google it and start prank calling.

So...you're thanking Trump that you might get the job?

Do you really believe that correlation?

Its at least a possible outcome. What was crooked Hillary gonna do? Another 4 years of Obama? No thank you.

Okay, hold up.

What has brought you to the conclusion that you are likely to get this job because we have Trump has President for a bit over 72 hours? I'm honestly quite curious what mindset you have here.

I will admit, its not entirely Trump, but I think he's one of the reasons why I got the call. If not, then its a lot of luck on my end, because originally this employer is a mom and pop like shop and they didn't want anyone, at least at first.

...That doesn't answer my question in the slightest. And neither does your post above.

You're just looking for a reason to argue, and I'm not going to give you an argument.

but why is he one of the reasons you got the call

Last I checked this is the guy that wants to bring jobs back here and will actually make it really hard for any company that wants to move their business overseas, and he plans on adding intensives for businesses to stay here and for existing ones to keep remaining here, this goes double for manufacturing jobs, such as machine shops that build parts for either aerospace or for the department of defense, because most of these jobs right now for the consumer base are overseas in places like China. Most of the manufactured products we have are cheap and come from China. Not much is made in the US anymore. Trump's trying to change that now.

Its a chance of change and I believe him winning the election might have given employers the intensive to take risks in hiring new people.

Then again, it could just be luck on my end.

Serious / Re: Net neutrality may be another hot topic under the Donald.
« on: January 23, 2017, 04:51:27 PM »
Eh, alright. If that's what you want. I'm not looking to start anything. Just pointing out that Trump's position on net neutrality has been known since long before the election and that both his actions and words made very clear that he opposes it. Him appointing another opponent of net neutrality and potentially undermining or even removing the policy really shouldn't come as a surprise and should've been expected by anyone who voted for Trump.

I just don't want to argue anymore. That's all we ever do when it comes to any hot button issue. It may start out as a friendly debate sure but then it can turn really heated fast.

And as far as this goes, the internet is likely gonna go under for me since our ISP is likely gonna want to charge more for using sites like YouTube, assuming this successfully gets killed.

Anyway I have an interview in a few hours.
Didn't you vote for Trump, though?

I did. What you're going to disown me for that?

You should already know by now that when it comes to anything in relation to politics or any polices of any kind, that's something you and I shouldn't discuss about. So far I only disagree with him on one thing but even if I didn't vote for him it wouldn't matter regardless because he'd still win and this thread would still exist.

I had my reasons for voting for him. I really don't need you to lecture me on it.

how could you vote for trump

Because he is a businessman, he understands debt, I like that he's bringing production back to America, and we needed change. I have a lot of reasons.

He's the reason I got an interview at the local machine shop in the first place.

Deci needs a job.

I simply find it amusing how you come in here to give "witty" posts with questionable opinions, then retreat and say "I'm not looking to talk about it!" whenever someone comes by and asks why you have such an opinion. It's almost like you know you're incorrect, but don't care.

Or you post Dad Rock and out of date memes.

Simply waiting for actual contribution.

100% on point and true

start taxing razors 50% and use the proceeds to supply free tampons tbh

How would you know?
know what

that tampons are way too expensive for a basic need?

As a man who has bought tampons I can tell you that they're really not all that expensive.

If women stop buying overpriced garbage and stick with off brands they could be saving a hell of a lot of money.

That being said I don't agree with the luxury tax that's placed on them.

Yeah but the cheaper they are they are more likely to use bad chemicals in them. I use pads, because fuck tampons, but the best ones (that will keep you from getting toxic shock syndrome) are the all natural cotton ones. Holy hell they are expensive, and that's why I stick with normal pads.

Gotta let that vag breathe, TSS can occur with any tampon if it's left in long enough.

I can't say for sure what chemicals were used in the tampons I bought but I'm gunna assume they're the same in the playtex/kotex lines, they were just store brand and didn't have colorful packaging or inspirational quotes written on them.

Pads are where it's at tho, you a wing girl?

Wings are a pain, but they help. TSS is scary as hell, but I've never known any woman to have it. I just googled it and apparently most pads/tampons are actually made out of wood pulp. Who would have thought.

Wow I was wrong then. I thought most tampons were made out of sponge.

The only one I heard of so far that I consider credible is from CNET.

If this is true, Well... Fuck.

Still, I want a legit news article from a credible news source that's not CNET.
I just googled "Net neutrality" and went to the news section and got a bunch.

http://abcnews.go.com/Technology/wireStory/report-net-neutrality-foe-ajit-pai-fcc-head-44935168

R.I.P my internet and Sep7agon I guess.

Again, if this really is true and the internet is pretty much gonna go under...

Dear Donald Trump.

YouTube

I don't understand why this is such a surprise, nor why it's the only part of digital rights you're focusing on. Trump has been openly against net neutrality for years. He's called it a top down power grab and opposed it becoming an aspect of FCC policy. All three of his transitional advisers were opponents of net neutrality and supporters of big business rights. We have known this for months and while he never explicitly called to end it during his campaign, his position on the issue has been very clear and it has always stood to reason that he would look to repeal or somehow diminish net neutrality in the US.

http://money.cnn.com/2016/12/01/technology/net-neutrality-fight-trump/

http://www.theatlantic.com/amp/article/509564/

http://www.alternet.org/news-amp-politics/how-much-danger-net-neutrality-now

https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/the-switch/wp/2016/11/10/how-donald-trump-will-dismantle-obamas-internet-legacy/?utm_term=.0e69ea5f9227

These are all older articles from a month or two back already talking about how Trump is a big risk to American net neutrality.

Still not discussing this with you for very good reasons.
