Then there you go, because ODST is not important enough. It's falling back to the trope that Don Mattrick had, don't have internet? Stick with the 360.
Want ODST Firefight? Stick with the 360. Stop being a mong. ODST's FF not being included in the MCC ODST isn't anything like the horse shit Don Mattrick was spewing.
FF isn't included because they'd be spread out even thinner, which would impact Halo 5.
i feel like ODST firefight would be a fucking nightmare to port
Everything is a fucking nightmare to port. I recently ported one of my games from Unity 4 to Unity 5, I still have a few broken scripts to fix but it's near complete. Doesn't mean it's not impossible though. It's even harder if you switch the build to PSM actually, almost every script would break because of it, so yeah. Porting isn't easy.

Fun fact: A small team created ODST, it was a small project to begin with. I'm pretty sure with a lot of time and passion and dedication, it would have been a full port. I highly doubt lack of developers is the problem here. 343 is a big studio, and unless the Xbone is utter shit at running ports of 360 games, I don't see what's stopping Firefight from not being feasible, because so far it can be feasible. I blame the publishers more than anything however, they rush the living shit out of developers, always have. That's why Halo 2 was a wreck when it got launched, hell it had to be delayed even to fix a crouch toggle issue before it launched. Anyway, I'm just stating that more is always better than less, it's not like I have an Xbone and I'm not getting rid of my 360 or it's games anytime soon.

If they don't change that, I will never buy another product from 343.
Seriously, it looks oversaturated as fuck, not to mention we all know there won't even be ANY firefight. What really bothers me is how badly I want to have my own ports let alone create my very own Halo game using existing Bungie assets, but that would only get me sued.
This is why I stick with the Xbox, PC, and 360 versions of the games.
Edit: Looking at it now I honestly hope that's just debug lighting.
You won't get sued for making your own Halo game as long as you aren't making any money off of it. It's stated in MS' fair use document.
Well it would be an obvious freebie, but that's legal to do? I thought you could only make maps on the PC versions and revisions to whatever CMT is doing.
You're allowed to use Halo and other MS franchises as long as you don't monetize whatever it is you're making. You are allowed to make money on YouTube content that has MS' properties in it though.
There's already two fan-made Halo games being made.
Huh. I see. I'll have to get involved with the CE community and see what they're up to.

343 probably gets several "I know how to save Halo" emails a day.
That was like the best feature in the entire game aside from just the story
It was the only feature in the game aside from the story.
Well it's not like I own an Xbone, and I still have my 360 for the untouched games that I personally enjoy.

id love to see the credentials deci has for this.
"heres why you should listen to me about halo: i suck dick at every halo game"

Good one.
no really, please provide a list of credentials. id love to be able to take you seriously.
You're just going to end up making fun of me, so no.
now do you see how silly this is, then?
It was just suppose to be constructive feedback, the only reason why I'm not telling you what I would say to 343 is because you'd just give me shit.

I'd say go for it, Im sure there's still a chance to save Halo >.>
By turning it back into the drab Bungie put out?
I'm sure he was being sarcastic here. Also, that drab made Bungie a fuck load of money because everyone including you bought it.
And I rather play that drab than any of the games made by 343 personally. The drabs had the right feel.
So yeah I rather have it turned back into that drab Bungie put out.
Oh yeah, and that first drab, combat evolved modernized first person shooters today. It set a standard.
I didn't buy CE. Nor did I buy H2. I got Halo 3 off of a friend for £5. The only times I've given Bungie money is for ODST and Reach.
343 are better writters, so I'd rather not go back to Bungie post-Halo 2 with their mediocrity.
writers* Clearly you can't write. Even though I disagree with you and think that the newer titles by 343 are COD copycat clones, that doesn't matter. You have to thank Bungie for at least conceiving the idea in the first place, because you wouldn't even be able to enjoy 343's. And if you think Bungie's shit, why did you even sign up on the site anyway? Should have never joined the community.

Okay there's no need to be an ass. I'm not saying it's all fine and dandy there and they're just lazy. I do know how tough it is. If you knew how tough it was you wouldn't have made half of your OP about why 343 has cut FF from the ODST port.
I am well aware of how tough it is, that doesn't mean it's impossible though.
Considering the MCC's networking isn't 100% still, they're porting ODST's campaign, and they're mainly focusing on H5, I'd say it's pretty impossible right now.
Then there you go, because ODST is not important enough. It's falling back to the trope that Don Mattrick had, don't have internet? Stick with the 360. Want ODST Firefight? Stick with the 360. Honestly, if backwards compatibility was invested in this system to at the bare minimum play only 360 games, that would have worked out fine and dandy, I get there is a science behind all of it but the fact that it's been done before shows that it could be done again, obviously it involves a lot of tweaking, but since it's too much of a hassle this generation, if I want to play Halo from now on, my best bet is the PC and 360 since it's a mess on Xbone.

Halo 5 actually looks like it's not going to be complete shit. I haven't been this excited for a Halo game since Halo 3. Fucking 2015 with all it's sexy ass games coming out.
You base the quality of a game on how good it looks?
Kill yourself

Saw it a while ago. Downloaded it. Then decided not do go through with it because I still need to patch CE with a thousand different patches.
You only need v10 and Open Sauce I believe. It's not that hard.
Besides, as soon as my copy of Halo PC gets here, I'll finally have no more issues with installing Custom Edition without getting that stupid CD key error each time I decide to host a fucking game online.
Fuck cracks and keygens, they suck.

If we've learned anything about 343i from the MCC, it is that Porting last gen games is the most incredibly complex process ever conceived by man, and that if anything about it works it's a miracle.
Well it takes a lot of problem solving skills, and if Halo 1 and 2 are from the PC ports of the games, that is in fact correct, it could be a bit more problematic, especially with new code involved, but that's all part of the job. Once a solution is found, I'm sure they could export both campaign and firefight if they wanted to and throw it into the build, thing is having 4 game engines connected to one is a complex mess to begin with, and unless there has been some documentation provided by Bungie prior, they're out of luck here.

The people that made the previous Halos are currently working on it. I'm sure they know than some kid
I'm not "some kid," you are in no position to put me down. I still know far more than anyone on this site in terms of making a game currently. Unless someone from the video game industry joins Sep7agon, you're all I have right now, and I would know far more than you could possibly ever imagine.
One of my projects originally was going to be a Sep7agon brawl battle, but I decided to axe it out entirely because the community here keeps giving me shit instead of positive enforcement. It's not too late to start all over again though, but I doubt I will unless a major change happens here. All you guys got so far as far as content goes was the Sep7agon Theme for the 360, and I did that. The only thing that I did not create was just the Sep7agon logo, but the background, color scheme, that's all my work.
fucking around in blender isn't game design, deci
Okay, first of all, I don't even use blender. That's a modeling program. I use Autodesk Maya for that, which when it comes to character modeling, Zbrush is slowly going to replace, Autodesk Mudbox is a texturing and digital sculpting program, and I use that too, you can get those for free if you're a college student. And if my computer didn't get fucked last time I would have had a complete Halo 2 PC Map under my portfolio using 3DS Max 7 with the Bungie .ASS exporter, I am still really fucking angry at myself for not backing it up, that was weeks and weeks of work, and it wouldn't always open it in the Halo 2 engine due to Pathway issues, once I fixed that I was so happy that I could finally add in the in game assets and set the map up for Halo 2, long story short, I did something unrelated to the whole map project, something that obviously knew would fuck the machine up if I opened the .exe, and boy did I have a fuck load of malware to the point where the Windows boot manager for Windows 7 got deleted. I'm mad about it to this day, I can try making the map again but I lost the passion to do so. Maybe this summer I'll reinstall 3DS Max 7 or 8 and get back to it. It has to be either of those programs because the .ASS exporter doesn't work with any recent version of 3DS Max, let alone any other modeling program. So fucking yeah! Aside from that the only engine I fuck around with is UDK, I develop with Unity, and since Unity 5 just came out, I have more tools to use for my projects this time to create some high quality environments. Next time educate yourself and do a bit more research before attempting to insult me again, because you're pretty bad at it so far. I know my shit, and I swear if there were MORE game development courses to take in my area aside from the 3 that I have aced, I'd hop right to it, better yet if there was a job offering for anyone who has knowledge with Unity in the area, I'd fucking run over there right now and apply.
