Serious / Re: Where were you when 9/11 happened?« on: August 17, 2014, 04:21:16 AM »
Similar to Trojan's story, I got home from primary school and watched it on the news.
7/7 was somewhat more affecting for me as my dad was in central london when they all went derka derka boom and it was a few hours before we heard from him. 16897

I've actually got another month and a half until University starts again <.<
When my break does end, I won't be overly disappointed either <.< I'll finally be getting my teeth into some Psychology stuff that might be more advanced than the stuff that I did a few years ago ._. If it's not and it's still all piss easy stuff... then I'll have another year of coasting to do. Which is great because I can focus on other things like getting a job and finishing a few loose ends <.< 16899

Now I might be wrong, but isn't it relatively simple to test tissue and blood for HIV/AIDS?
Just test the donor/deceased and if they are clean - Use their tissue/blood. If they aren't, then you've either saved lives from preventing their infected tissues from being transplanted or diagnosed an undiagnosed patient. 16901
The Flood / Re: My counselor wants me to see a psychologist, AMA« on: August 16, 2014, 04:53:19 PM »But counselor, therapist, and psychologist are synonyms...at least where I live. In typical use they are but when you use them technically there are minor differences. I'll go with the UK ones because that's the one I know best but it might vary for the USA somewhat. Psychologist is a broad term for anyone who has passed a Psychology undergraduate degree, you are eligible to join the BPS and be registered as a Psychologist. However if they are treating patients in a clinical setting then it usually is accompanied by a more specific term like Chartered, Counselling or Clinical. A therapist and counsellor is much more synonymous as far as I know but I could be wrong. 16902

Serious / Re: Institutionalisation of criminals is too harsh a punishment for any crime« on: August 16, 2014, 04:40:59 PM »
So can we hang them instead?
<.< But there isn't a great answer to this, Institutionalisation is inevitable with long sentences and in the absence of the death penalty for serious crimes (And I do mean serious, threat to the public serious) there aren't exactly a plethora of options left open. I suppose we could try something like Demolition Man and Cryo them <.< 16907
Gaming / Re: Worst fan base ever« on: August 16, 2014, 04:31:42 PM »
Halo fans, meh. I think the 343 defence force gets a bit annoying but it's not overly irritating.
I've never even seen a bioshock fanboy, let alone a large number of annoying ones. Desticles are annoying, but that's mostly because they are children. They'll hopefully grow out of it soon enough ._. The sniping between fallout fans is irritating but even at it's worst it's not actually that bad <.< Mass Effect has some genuinely disturbing fans, like the Tali Sweat guy. ASOIF - Spoilers. People can be dicks, but generally most of the book readers don't go out of their way to ruin the enjoyment of others. Star Wars fans... ugh. I'm just going to skip over this one because it's not worth wasting breath on. They got my vote though. 40K - I think the endless oneupmanship that 40k breeds can be pretty annoying, in a universe of ridiculously overpowered everything competitions between other universes and within the 40kverse get disgustingly boring. Muh eldur blackstone fortresses, muh unkillable XYZ, muh god damn spiritual liege. ._. But yeah, Star Wars fanboys piss me off the most out of all of those listed. 16908

Robot fanboying aside, it is a little concerning.
Mostly because of all the filthy pleb luddites that will no doubt cause all kinds of hell when this stuff starts to hit home, It will certainly be interesting to see what happens though <.< Quite how the economy is going to change when human labour becomes worthless and production is bordering on free... Any ideas on this one? You seem to have a real itch for economics at the moment >.> 16914
