Talon Company uses hydroponics tech given by BoS to grow and sell marijuana. Revenue increases.
Initial disapproval of the usage of hydroponics is dismissed, it's a depressing wasteland and allowing people escapism on a less harmful substance than Jet is encouraged, but is presently restricted within the BoS pending further scientific analysis.

Yeah, nothing really happens when half the players are asleep, but that's no reason for restricting four or five awake players from having fun. When you start shutting down the whole thing randomly at specific parts of the day, that's how these threads die.
That should work alright, With the TC/Outcast ceasefire already being arranged there shouldn't be too much of a problem then >.>

What the hell? No, we've never done it like that. The thing is just that you can't attack players who are away. It's 9:00pm.
Ah I see, I haven't played this before lol <.< We'll go with that then, if people just make a point of stating they are AFK then that's also fine. I'll be up for a few more hours anyway lol

May I request that we stop playing since most of us are gone for the moment? I think this would be reasonable so people don't get too far in tech while others are gone. Can we resume tommorow at 5:30 central time?
Yeah, I second this <.< It's 3:30am GMT for me, so 5pm CST would be fine to continue on my end <.<

President TBlocks informs BoS that they are nothing more than scouts
BoS Elder Robo-Psy receives President TBlocks' message, accepts but continues monitoring of scouts. Out of Game: Canon confirmation requested on this, what's the BoS/Enclave default stances? From Fallout 1 since that's what we are going by, if no canon confirmation is given then I'll make this shit up as I go along. And yes, I do need to play it soon <.<

Will accept ceasefire. But will not share any of our tech behind that door with talon company. That tech is ours and we have every right to protect it.
+++Response received+++ Sending medical support to both parties, handing control of Hubris Comics over to TC, Ceasefire is a tentative success <.<

Outcasts contact the BoS requesting support in fighting these talon company mercs. We are low on manpower due to out point lookout exploration.
Direct Support request is denied, diplomatic support inbound. Commencing a war with the Talon Company is not likely to lead to any gains. BoS High Command requests that the Talon Company ceases hostilities with the Outcasts, Offers medical treatment to any injured and calls for a ceasefire.

Outcasts remind that the BoS (excluding the DC branch) are our allies. Attacking us is attacking the brotherhood. We are stationed in a secure location in the middle of DC send your men back... Or else.
BoS High Command reminds the Outcasts that the policy changes implemented by the DC branch were also universally applied to the BoS. Times are changing and the Brotherhood must change with it. Whilst you are not enemies, your position as allies requires some evaluation first.

Securitrons transmit data on Brotherhood activities in Hidden Valley back to the Strip.
BoS subtly reminds Securitrons that Hidden Valley has been abandoned <.<

Talon thanks BoS and offers to take out the newly-formed Brotherhood outcasts for a small fee.
BoS is grateful for the offer but respectfully declines, the Outcasts may yet be brought back into the fold. BoS instead offers a large fee for assisting with the Mutant problem in central DC.

BoS Update
Texas group - Fortifications 50% complete, centre of Texas is now secure. First battalion of Auxiliaries has begun training. Lost Hills group - Found it on the wiki, begins preparations to move out to Big MT. Hidden Valley group - Reached the outskirts of Big MT, Attempting to penetrate the barrier. DC Group - Liberty Prime at 23% readiness, located several prewar technologies in the museums which allow for more complex circuits to be attempted. Heavy fighting with Mutant factions is slowing progress on other matters. Scout group has reached the borders of the commonwealth, further information not yet available.
Complex Circuitry is bringing the BoS closer to reverse engineering power armour, dodgy prototypes are being tested on willing recruits with mixed results.
DC group has started to recruit for the 2nd Auxiliary battalion but the dangers of central DC make this hard to do.
Texas group sends heavily armed scouting party towards the hellhole of Florida, attempting to assess the task ahead.

Technology exchange accepted. Talon sends BoS a crate of tri-beam laser rifles found in Annapolis. We have no need for such weaponry.
BoS sends two fully functioning Auto Docs, 5 Hydroponics bays and a cache of Rad medication in return.

Talon Company sends a peace agreement to Brotherhood of Steel.
Peace agreement accepted. BoS diplomat proposes a mutually beneficial exchange of technology, you get practical things like Hydroponics, Radiation removal gear, Auto-Docs in exchange for uncovered technology found by scouting parties.

Alrighty, BoS actions <.<
Hidden Valley group - Mobilise and move out towards the Big Empty, this will take a while <.< Texas group - Expand and fortify military installations, prioritise rebuilding an airforce from documents recovered in archives. Lost Hills group - Work out where the hell this is. Capital Wasteland group - Work on restoring Liberty Prime in the Citadel. Send a scout party north to search for Docks with any salvageable navy vessels.
Overall actions, Open up recruitment to promising wastelanders who show technical or combat skills. Forming Axillary battalions armed with Laser Rifles and Combat Armour and more engineers are always appreciated.
Start attempting to reverse engineer T45-d suits.
This shit's gonna take a while.

I'm not great with a map of the USA, have we decided on one for the game yet?

It would be interesting to play a game where you're the losing side, but I wouldn't want my final defeat to seem like some scripted event. It needs to be spectacular.
A WW2 game where you play as the Germans would fill that role <.< It'd never get made in a hundred years though, can you imagine the unholy supernova of butthurt from every idiot on the planet? A game where you play as a nazi and kill Yanks/Commies/Britbongs. I'm pretty sure it would give peter hitchens a heart attack >.>

You can't really compare real life footage to a film.
In terms of actual graphic content, I can. The Raid 2 is far more graphic than any film I've seen, which is a good thing but that's irrelevant. The implication of the video is that he's injured by his mortar blowing up, but nothing is actually shown. If it showed him splattered all over the place, then I wouldn't post it and it wouldn't be on youtube. Yes it might be real violence, but it's no more graphic than a video of a plane dropping a bomb at a distance.

You are comparing a human in real life being injured in an obvious war zone, or at least war torn country, to a .gif that is from a movie trailer. You are fucking joking, right?
No, I'm not.

You guys are just being smartasses now.
Smartasses =/= Pointless censorship. If I'd posted an execution video from syria, then of course that would be out of order. If I posted a beheading one from Iraq, then no shit that's wrong. But posting a mobile phone footage of a mortar backfiring and simply having a large bang is no more graphic than this gif that Kiyo posted a while back. It's not the exact same gif but it's essentially the same scene.
16374
« on: September 01, 2014, 06:49:32 PM »
Kiyo, this doesn't fall into the shock video category. Even if it did, a warning of the contents and the video being placed in a spoiler tag would solve the problem.
Well there we go then. [Warning, Contains a guy blowing up a mortar. Also contains no graphic content, just a dust cloud.]

You seem to be engaged in, like I said earlier, some sort of scientism. One which looks almost malicious to me.
I'm saying technocracy is fine, so long as you don't go overboard with it. I don't want scientists and engineers deciding things like funding or when the cut-off point for abortion should be. A lot of economists don't understand the economy, so I don't want to see people like scientists having the power.
Why not? I can understand you not wanting a cogboy to be doing the accounting but why shouldn't the cut off point be decided by a panel of biologists/ethicists? It'd be better than having the policy decided by religious diehards and bleeding hearts.

But seriously, if you had something like dementia or severe retardation, would you really want to live like that?
Hmm, well with severe retardation I'd be too blunt to care. Dementia is a bitch though, but I wouldn't necessarily hop on the easy train out if I was diagnosed with it. It's not impossible for a cure to be found, or at least a treatment, in the not too distant future. So I'd be against the idea of painting the wall with my brains prematurely.
