The Flood / One of the stranger things I've seen on ebay...« on: October 15, 2014, 04:14:14 PM »
http://www.ebay.co.uk/usr/shinydragonitexy
... So this chap seems to be basically running a pokemon black market ring. Well maybe that's not the best description but he's selling a shit tonne of various fancy pokemon that either have good stats/natures/shiny and the like. Or are event legendaries. ... It's just kind of bizarre, and even more so that it's not bullshit if the thousands of buyer reviews are to be believed .-. It's the scale of it that has me speechless, he must either be working with a bunch of people and sharing the profits or he's literally sat with a bunch of 3DSs in front of him all day playing pokemon 24/7. .-. 335

The Flood / Chav Thread, It's time for a bongarong.« on: October 13, 2014, 05:56:34 PM »
Alright fellow britbongs, europoors and our friends across the sea <.<
Disable your anti-british filters to appreciate this thread in it's entirety. Spoiler For information on how to do so visit this site. www.howtodisabletheantibritbongfilter.com With that out of the way, you can now enjoy the entirety of the Chav thread. Some soothing music to help set the mood Bongarong YouTube Chav Fights AND WOT YouTube NAH I'M NOT FAKIN KIDDIN BRAV YouTube The Chav Chariot YouTube Bouncer Assassination takedown YouTube Observe the chav on horseback YouTube Bonus Video YouTube Next up: The Anatomy of the Chav Anatomy of the Chav Article 1, Headwear. Typically the chav will wear either a baseball cap and/or hoodie. For the yanks and europoors among us, that is a hooded jumper or tracksuit. Article 2, Bling. In order to attract a mate* a chav will wear as much shiny fake gold as it is possible to move it. It is not shown on this filthy pleb as it is concealed by his burberry tracksuit. Article 3, The tracksuit. The most ubiquitous of Chav clothing, typically sportswear or other tasteless crap from high street clothing stores. Article 4, The trainers. No chav is complete without a pair of ridiculously overpriced sports trainers, these are an extension of the bling mentioned in article 2. Article 5, The slouch. Very rarely you will ever encounter a Chav walking or standing normally, they are always either doing some kind of moronic swagger that looks like they have defecated themselves or they are just blind drunk at 9 in the morning. They prop themselves up on lampposts, walls, windows and other street furniture to maintain their balance and to "LOOK FOOKIN 'ARD" *A mate can both refer to a spawning partner and an acquaintance who will help you kick old lady's heads in. Comparisons may be drawn between Chav dialect and the particular version of Orkish found in Warhammer 40,000. Here is an example of such an accent. Spoiler YouTube Another interesting thing to note is what Chav stands for, much debate among pseudo-intellectuals on wikipedia and the guardian tries to dispel the idea that it stands for Council Housed and Violent, but anyone with any first hand experience of such degenerate creatures will know that the acronym is entirely correct. Chav reproduction. Little is known about just how Chavs manage to replicate themselves in such large numbers but several credible scientists have again drawn comparison to the Orks of Warhammer 40,000. They reproduce their sheer numbers as a part of their perculiar biology in which they are actually a form of sentient fungal xenos that when killed releases thousands of spores into the air which will eventually grow into other individual orks. The hypothesis is that when a Chav and a Chavette come into contact in the Dole queue, they release the corresponding halves of their spores into the air which combine to produce infectious particles, capable of mutating otherwise pleasant schoolchildren into yet more of their disgusting ilk. The counter point is that by constantly feeding them benefits they are able to spend all day fornicating and as they are too stupid to use contraception they reproduce at a rate comparable to rodents. This information has been brought to you by the Campaign for the Extermination of all Chav Inbred Lifeforms. Or CECIL. For more information on how to properly counter the virulent threat of the chav menace, please keep your eyes peeled for the update to the Original Post. 338

The Flood / Insomniacs of the Flood <.<« on: October 10, 2014, 11:57:03 PM »
I know I've made a similar thread before but this one has something interesting.
I was idly flicking through wikipedia, as you do, and I came across this. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Circadian_rhythm_sleep_disorder It's easy to just shove sleep troubles under insomnia, but I think some of these might actually be more accurate. At least for me <.< My problem is that the time that I'm awake and alert to my fullest tends to be late at night, sluggish as hell in the morning and sleeping to the afternoon easily. I don't think it's just the typical teenager sleep troubles as the particular aspects are that my circadian appears to shift around the clock in cycles of roughly 20-30 days. Do any of these sound like they might apply to any of you? Or do you just struggle with regular insomnia? Or are you one of those lucky bastards that doesn't have sleep as an arch enemy? <.< 340

The Flood / Regarding the issue of Biased Moderation.« on: October 09, 2014, 05:17:10 PM »
Alright so this has been raised several times tonight.
As far as I understand it, the main highlighted point has been PSU's goodbye thread which quickly turned into a shitfest. There were some issues with the moderation actions taken and some participation in the shitflinging itself. Both of these specific points have been addressed, PSU is no longer Moderated as that was an excessive warning and the person in particular has been spoken to about their participation. The bigger picture of perceived bias for and against certain members is an issue that needs addressing and it is being figured out, the important things to remember are that the new rules implemented today require some adjusting to on behalf of the moderation team and the community. It's not just an easy light switch on and off, which is in part why I have encouraged some leniency tonight to ease people into things. I want to emphasise a few things. -If you see something you don't like, you think that someone is getting away with attacking/flaming another user then PM myself, one of the other moderators or Cheat over it. There is no need to make a hundred threads on the front page declaring it, not because it's about covering asses but because it's just straight up disruptive. -I think the leniency plea is going to end pretty soon because I personally have been dealing with this shit for the last 8 hours, along with a lot of the other mods and monitors (And of course Cheat) You have had some time to adjust, you've vented your frustrations and I've made a terrible botched job of cleaning up after you all <_< So, if you have any further complaints please post them in here. I'm not going to censor anyone, if you have a complaint then bring it up. Just please do so cleanly without all caps and a howling stream of obscenities. Any other questions can be posted here, it's not an exclusively moderation related thread. 343
Serious / Thank. Fucking. Shrek. NHS/Mental Health news.« on: October 08, 2014, 10:40:51 PM »
Maybe the Lib Dems aren't all completely fucking useless.
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/health-29533857 Spoiler Quote Playing devil's advocate, you could say the government is setting its mental health targets in the areas and at the levels it knows the NHS can achieve. I can't really tl;dr this properly, especially not at 5am but give it a read britbongers. And any interested Yanks/Europlebs/Aussies/Canadians/everyone else. The important bit is that the lib dem conference appear to have announced a new set of policies to put some fucking funding into Mental Health. To highlight one part in particular, 11% of the Budget goes to treating 28% of patients. The other bit, that really fucking pisses me off is this. 3/4 of people with mental illness receive no treatment at all, whilst the same figure is at a quarter for those with physical illness. So yeah, Thank fucking shrek. It's about damn time. 345

Again, a few of you know that I'm addicted to books <.< So I thought that taking an inventory whilst unpacking my ... 18 boxes... of books would be a good idea >.> It's still underway but so far I've unpacked and catalogued 165 books. And a word of warning, no baiting/trolling/flaming/fedora tipping ITT. Even if you find all religion to be farcical, please keep that to yourself as I'd like to discuss things with the faithful among us without it turning into a shitstorm/flamewar/ebinfedoramaymays. Got it? .-. 349
Gaming / A question for those with Fibre optics/Google Fibre.« on: September 30, 2014, 11:02:18 AM »
Do you still suffer from laggy connections and shitty games when it's school kicking out time where you live?
4pm-8pm here is almost unplayable because of the hundreds of kids getting on netflix/XBL/youtube/twitch etc but since this is broadband, I'm wondering if fibre users still suffer from this problem. 350

Serious / Did the EU just do something good...?« on: September 29, 2014, 10:14:07 AM »
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-29408121
[Parody copyright laws set to come into effect] Quote Changes to UK legislation are to come into force later this week allowing the parody of copyright works. Tl;dr is that the EU has passed a directive/legislation that protects parody material from copyright claims, with a few caveats for things like discriminatory content- 'Owners of the copyrighted works will only be able to sue if the parody conveys a discriminatory message. It would then be down to a judge to decide if the parody is funny.' So... yay or nay? 353
Serious / George Osbourne wants to lose the next election for the tories.« on: September 29, 2014, 10:10:48 AM »
Disclaimer: This OP will contain lots of pisstaking, but there is a serious discussion here so bear with it.
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-29402844 [George Osbourne proposes two year benefits freeze] Spoiler Quote A future Conservative government would freeze benefits paid to people of working age for two years, Chancellor George Osborne has told the Conservative Party conference. YouTube Spoiler The only one who can save us now. ALLAHU THATCHER Now, I'm not going to comment on the effectiveness of the economic policy idea - Meta might be better able to do so <.< I will however say that this is going to be quite the An Hero for the tories, people don't exactly vote off their heads and if the unemployed masses see that he's going to make life 'perceivably' worse for them then that's not going to win him any favours with the plebs. 354
Serious / Conspiracy Theories that you think might be, or are true.« on: September 28, 2014, 05:39:14 PM »
The most common one being that the US Government had a hand in orchestrating 9/11, which wouldn't surprise me completely if it turned out to be true but I don't quite think it is a conspiracy.
So rather than this being a shitfest of Obummer is a kenyan arab muslim reptile, try to think of ones that could actually have some truth to them. 356

Serious / Region locking in the globalized world.« on: September 26, 2014, 02:46:14 PM »
*looks at meta*
I don't just mean specifically locked digital content but the whole 'exclusive to this country' crap in general. Could someone explain why this shit is still a thing? Region locked consoles, Exclusive preorder crap, Netflix limitations (This one I understand slightly but it's still a joke anyway) Aside from the relentless copyright bullshit that hits everything on youtube with 'not available in your country'. I mean most of this stuff is just pointless because of stuff like VPNs and the like but back to my original point. Can anyone see an actual point and purpose in terms of economic/financial benefit to this crap? Aside from extortion that is <.< |
