The Flood / Good News Everyone!« on: March 22, 2015, 06:46:32 PM »
Don't worry it's not actually bad news disguised in the disarming 'Good News' <.<
As of this morning, I am now an Uncle >.> My older brother and his wife have had a little boy and I went to go and see my new nephew today with muh dad. Mother and Baby are both in great health and it's nice to see the next generation of Spoiler I also got a nice new suit for work this weekend hehe, and four Dexter books that I found in a shop That was my weekend lol, how was your one flood? <.< 183
Gaming / A shitbucket's view on Battlefield Hardline« on: March 20, 2015, 06:24:24 PM »
This post was sponsored by EA Ronku as a part of the forum shill and misdirection program. Preorder Hardline or I'll kill this baby. Oh uh... buy it even. The baby is dead anyway.
So! Hardline arrived in the post this morning and I can say without shame that I've spent the last 12 hours playing it pretty much non-stop. I thought I'd just post my honest two cents about the game here because raisins (EA Shill). Singleplayer I wasn't expecting their 'episodic story' to be quite so literal <.< You've got 10 episodes to play through, a bit like a season of CSI but where michael bay and rambo are teaming up with solid snake. It's got a few mildly amusing jokes and some vaguely recognisable actors (That republican majority leader from HoC for examplé) The plotwists so far have all been as clear as can be but maybe that's because I've watched a lot of cop shows (who hasn't though?) but altogether it's interesting enough. The stealth mode is kind of lackluster for me, but ehh I can see the appeal as I think it's done fairly well. I'm just more of a 'kill em all and let god sort em out' person >_> You get a lot more customisation than in the BF4 story, by fucking miles. None of this predetermined bollocks. One thing I've noticed is that the lip synching is subpar and occasionally they are talking straight up by telepathy. Multiplayer Chaotic clusterfuck of the best kind. I thought the higher TTK would make it very shit, but it feels fairly similar to BF4 honestly. You can shoot a guy and he'll die quickly enough but of course the PDW rape train has no breaks. RPGs are so stronk it's not even funny, I think brute mentioned this but yeah you can spawn with them and basically just fuck up an entire round of hotwire solo. I haven't seen the M16a3 as much as I'd feared, which is good because you should ram it up your urethra if you shitbucket with it like lelvelcap. Use a real man's gun, like the zipline. Battlepacks are better but also worse, they broke one of the values I think for the boost ratio as I've opened about 20 today and not a single attachment voucher. So I hope that gets fixed. General thoughts It's a very fun game, the extra time they took to make it has paid off and the game is an absolute blast. It's pretty newb friendly too and is a much more casual shooter than BF4 so the two kind of complement each other nicely. You have a crazy shooter with lots of splosions but without the CodKids and you have a large scale war game that's in the middle ground between CKs and Armafegs <_< overall I r8 it 9/11 so far. Allah Akbar. 184

Serious / Why do you think children can do the same thing almost indefinitely...« on: March 10, 2015, 02:19:40 PM »
But adults cannot?
For leisure that is, obviously adults can do the same thing over and over again (Work) but I'm referring to the ability of young children to be entertained by the same film almost constantly. When I was younger I could watch something like Pirates of the Caribbean 4-5 times a day and not get bored by it. Now if I try to sit and watch a film I can get restless/bored, but trying to watch the same film twice in a row would be awful, let alone several times a day <.< Anyone have any thoughts on why this might be? Or if this is/was the case for you? Of course it applies to damn near everything*; Songs, Toys, TV programmes etc. (*Leisure oriented obviously) 188

I'm just wondering how many of you are likely to be picking it up next month/near enough, on the PeeEshFore (as a side quest-chin) because it seems like there could be some fun times had with game nights and shit (See: Pubstomps) This post was sponsored and paid for by the EA Shill department. The Flood / Favourite Avatar: The last airbender character?« on: February 21, 2015, 10:57:09 AM »
To make things easier, you can choose a main character and a side character.
For me, I would choose Iroh (With Toph running very close behind) as a main and Wan Shi Tong for the side character <.< 197
The Flood / Would you vote for Meta as prime minister?« on: February 18, 2015, 06:18:48 PM »
Things like policies and philosophy are irrelevant when it comes to voting for a prime minister/president, as we all know. So if Meta was a statesman running for the PM seat, would you give him your vote?
I know I would, who better to run the country? Apart from Her Majesty herself, but that's a discussion for another day. Vote for Meta, the larger than life politicrat. 198
The Flood / Teetotalitarianism (Alcohol survey)« on: February 16, 2015, 04:19:26 PM »
It's time for an attitude poll of the flood <.<
I'm curious to see what the rough percentages of people on here are, a recent statistic for the UK was that 1/5 people are now abstainers (Praise allah) and I'm interested to see how this matches up with the flood. I realise that a lot of you are not of the legal age to drink, so you can either answer truthfully or how you would intend to drink alcohol when you are of said age. (As in, your attitude towards it) I won't judge. Spoiler But Allah will. [Chart] Regularly 6-7 days a week Frequently 4-5 days a week Occasionally 2-3 days a week Rarely 1 day a week Never 0 days a week <___< Forgot this bit. 199

Post your recent acquisitions and your planned purchases ITT >.> [Recent Aquisitions] - Dune - Frank Herbert - Ender's Game - Orson Scott Card - Telling Lies - Paul Ekman - ORAS guide - Psychopathology 2nd Edition - A collection of old books on the british empire/nature [Planned purchases] AQA A2 Psychology (Maybe) Epic of Gilgamesh Basic Kanji Book: Volume 2 [Highlight] When I was clearing out someone's rubbish, taking it all to the tip I salvaged a few things <____< Among the rubble was a spent Bofors shell, which is going to be polished up into a neat little ornament. Two big mothafuckin geodes, sliced and polished into a beautiful MINERAL display. And a 1908 king james bible e.e It took me a moment to twig that this is the first book that I've obtained that is older than a hundred years. Next closest is my 1921 Rudyard Kipling poem collection thing <.< It's got handwritten notes in it and everything, it's really quite a beautiful old book. Gilded pages and what looks like leather binding (unfortunately :/) but it would be heretical to remove the cover from it >.> So flud, for the bibliophiles among us, what books have you obtained recently? <.< 200

The Flood / Free films? Free films. Jurassic Park 1/2/3 codes« on: February 07, 2015, 05:12:17 PM »
I recently got a boxset trilogy of the jurassic park films, it came with some ultraviolet codes and since I don't need them here they are <.<
They are UK/ROI only, but if you have a VPN you can skirt around the region restriction IIRC and piss in their faces for being naggermen. Jurassic Park 1 Jurassic Park 2 Jurassic Park 3 PM me if you want one, I hate it when giveaways leave the codes in the OP so everyone is in a blind panic to race to the site first and all that. Plus it's not fair on yanks who have to VPN to get it lol. For discussions, what is your favourite dinosaur? >_> 204

So it's 2am ish and I'm rather stumped, Yuta has roped me into doing the podcast thing again >_>
Sort of a return to the first episode formula I think. Anyhoo, this means I need to have something to talk about. Which I suck at, just pulling a topic off the top of my head is pretty daunting. So I tend to need something to work with >.> What this means, is I need suggestions/questions about stuff to talk aboot. The Flood / What do you think, if anything, is wrong with the flood board? [Unofficial]« on: January 21, 2015, 04:23:21 PM »
This is unofficial because it's just to get some rough thoughts from the denizens of the flood forum. It's not a poll, I just want to hear what you guys think. I've put my rough opinion on this in the spoiler but post your own thoughts before reading it.
My personal opinion aside, as a part of the discussion what do you think is wrong with the flood board (if anything)? And what would you do to fix it? Psy's opinion Currently serious is under the knife because there is the idea to cut bits out of there to save the flood from being a truly dire place, but I'm not seeing this. Nor do I think that sending stuff like maths threads or science threads here is going to make anything better. 210

This is a bump, the previous podcast has been canned by the JIDF for promoting anti-semitism so we are redoing it <.< Feel free to ask new questions ITT though, the ones that were previously asked will be answered too. الله أكبر |
