If by "getting it for free," you mean stealing, then not really. But call it what it IS.
You can't really steal music. Taking credit for another artist's work (plagiarism) is one thing, but to say that taking sounds from one environment and playing them in another (which is what ripping/torrenting a song is) is stealing is ludicrous. It's stupid to be technical about it. There's no child pornography--just a series of pixels in assorted colors arranged in such a way that it LOOKS like child pornography.
That's how stupid that logic is.
I think the comparison is bad, but I guess they are both "crimes" in world. I think deciding whether or not you care is totally up to the person. I don't think it makes anyone a bad person for not wanting to pay out the wazoo for all the music they want to listen to. If it's 1 or 2 songs by a popular artist, who cares, those mainstream artists have millions anyways. If it's an underground artist who is trying to make ends meet, it would be generous to pay for his or her albums. There are some artists that allow you to pay what you want. Meaning give nothing, or give more. I think trying to hold people accountable for whether or not they pirate music is probably one of the pettiest offences someone can be indicted for. Also consider how the industry used to be. Before the internet it was run entirely by record companies. Those companies would choose what artists get to be played on the radio and who gets albums released. Now with the internet we have kind of an open source network. No one has to obey the regulations of those record companies. Some have argued that there is too much new music, and the record companies should gain the power again. Those people would be wrong, and inconsiderate of all the artists who aren't on a label. Also consider that now that there is so much music, there is also a higher supply and the demand for some artists goes way down. I think that it is unrealistic to say that a music enthusiast such as myself should have to stretch my dollar so far that I can afford the hundreds of artists, and thousands of albums I listen to.

I know that a certain someone (you know who you are) would say yes, because you never download music free. I personally don't think that I have enjoyed an album any more when I bought it than when I got it free. If anything I think that it makes the album more enjoyable to have it for free. That way if it turns out that you don't like it as much you don't feel bad about buying it. There is nothing worse than buying an album and then regretting it later.
I see people bringing up how getting music for free cheapens the experience. I disagree.

I'd prefer this thread didn't go in the flood, so it doesn't get bogged down with troll replies.

I have struggled with real life doctors telling me they think I have autism since I was very young. I always wondered why I couldn't just be normal and honestly doctors telling me I had "autism" just made me feel like I was legitimately broken. I see "autism" as an insult thrown around too much these days. It's just about as meaningless as saying "legit" or "literally", the way people generally abuse those words. I'm not saying stop saying autism... but seriously I would really appreciate if people stopped.

That's not how they're born. That's a locust shedding it's skin. I find locust shells around my area sometimes and I like to collect them and keep them on my shelf. All my old ones broke and I threw them away though.
That's not a locust, bruh
funny, because that looks exactly like a locus. at least that's what we call them around here.

Yeah I absolutely agree that it's torture. I don't agree with the way that our prisons handle criminals. I think rehabilitation is a much more logical way of dealing with criminals. Look at Norway's rate of reincarceration. They have like half the amount of prisoners being reincarcerated. I think it's because punishment is really ineffective. Punishment itself doesn't really serve a purpose but an power trip for people who are angry at the offender. People want to get back at people and that is the reason why we punish people in the first place. I think it's an extremely childish way of dealing with problems, to treat people like they are the problem itself, instead of trying to treat the underlying issues. People don't want to imagine a world where there are things beyond their control, so they try to punish people to make them feel like they're in control of them. It's really just a savage thing to do.
As for solitary confinement itself it sounds completely unethical. Being put in a room with nothing to do for days at a time. I watched a documentary one time about a person who was locked in a dark room for two years and apparently it gave him serious permanent psychological damage. I think it's an awful way to treat prisoners.

It kinda sucks for sadists that unless they are into bdsm they can't rightfully act out their urges. It would suck to want to hurt something and be prohibited from doing it. It would probably be better for you if you had a hobby like stamp collecting or something, rather than hurting your cat.

You know, the one that worships a pedophile warlord and flies planes into the twin towers, and executes thousands of people with their regime of radical extremists who abuse women, and want to take over the world. You know, the religion of peace.

I never understood intolerance of homosexuals. I always thought anyone who seemed "gay" just seemed cuter than the rest.

Loaf, why you hate me?..
I hate cute things! grrr
Dude you gotta hop on the "I wanna bone Casper" train
No, because as much as I respect casper as an anonymous poster that I don't really know, and evidently his pics are pretty cute from what I have seen, I really don't want to jump on some bandwagon.

If you're afraid of looking at cute femboys then I am worried about how you will survive in the real world outside of your safety bubble.

Fans of Mr Repzion. Mr Repzion is embarrassing and so are his fans. I would know because I created a comment on one of his videos that got over 200 replies of pure dog shit. Theamazingatheist fans are a bit better though, they have a sense of humor usually.

Emo fem boys don't even look cute, and in all of those pics they give off the feeling that they are trying to damn hard.
They do look like they're trying really hard, but they do look cute. My brain just goes numb looking at them though.

ITT people quantifying their taste and not just saying they're willing to explore limitless possibilities. i'm really really not though
after i get done listening to a bad song, i'm like
wow, that was four minutes i could've spent listening to a song that i DO like
so it kinda matters
what makes one song bad may not make another song bad.
