Serious / Re: The UK fox hunting ban
« on: May 16, 2015, 05:29:11 PM »
Depends on the context. I think that it should be legal if you have a permit, and that permit would be issued exclusively to people who have to deal with fox problems.

Making it illegal outright isn't fair for the farmers who would have their farms ravaged by foxes.
Fox hunting isn't just grabbing your shotgun and shooting a threat to your livestock. Fox hunting is a barbaric act of rich bastards riding through the countryside with hundreds of dogs to trap any fox they see and tear it apart while it's still alive. It's bad enough the fucking "sport" is legal all over Ireland, we don't need the bad lifted in mainland UK. It's not the fucking middle ages anymore.
I said that it would be only allowed for people whose livelihoods are under threat by foxes.
and people whos livestock are "at risk" still have the rights to kill that threat. Going into a remote area and having foxes ripped apart by packs of dogs has nothing to do with protecting livestock.
Well, then there's no debate. I never said that the general populace should be allowed to hunt foxes.
The debate that the conservatives use is "something something culture and heritage something something". The majority of people in the country are strongly opposed to it.
Well, then fuck them. They've done nothing but propose shit legislation ever since they won the election.

I'm not much of a runner, so the last time I ran a mile or more was like 2 months ago. I do cycle 20-40 miles a week on average though.

I agree with an NPR commentator that said, "if he doesn't deserve the death penalty, then no-one does."
You're right, no one deserves the death penalty. Not even if they're the next Stalin.
I think we could make an exception for the Hitlers and Stalins of the world. But literally only those people.

On the other hand though, they shouldn't be quickly removed from the world for their crimes. They deserved to be tortured for the rest of their lives.

« on: May 16, 2015, 06:04:50 AM »
The death penalty is never the answer.

Also, don't expect this to be quick. There are so many appeals and delays possible that this will still take years before the judgment is final. And then, the average time a US convict spends on death row is over 15 years, with more and more people dying while awaiting their execution than by the actual hands of their executioner, and cases of people spending up to 40 years on death row are not unheard of.

So for those hoping to see blood, I hope you are prepared to wait another decade or two.
I'm referring to the execution itself. The 8th Amendment is a thing here, so Dzhokhar won't be burned alive, much to the derision of many people.

Oh shizzzzz

I'd totally buy a small apartment in Berlin, and then just live out of there indefinitely. Of course doing university at the same time. So pretty much what I'm gonna do anyways, except for buying rather than renting. Couldn't have it any other way.

Gaming / Re: Why do people take gaming so seriously?
« on: May 16, 2015, 05:44:04 AM »
Again. There's a difference between seeing something a certain way, and then seeing why people see something a certain way. It's like the difference between being a Communist, and then seeing why other people believe in Communism. Seeing why other people believe in Communism doesn't make me into a Communist.
But you specifically talked about yourself.

Either you're an active Communist viewing others, or you're a former communist viewing others. There's a huge difference in perception there.
Well, there you go. That's pretty much my point. I'm just saying that I wish I could remember why I saw ranks as important so I could better understand people who currently do.

That's not what I'm debating.
Yes you are. That's the subject matter. Taking ranks seriously.

Except for I'm doing that right now.
But it's literally impossible. You're saying something you view as positive as negative.

You made a mistake and wrote "unfortunately" instead of "fortunately" and you don't want to concede to that for some reason.

If you're not a 50 in Halo 3 then get the fuck off this site and play Reacharound you filthy causal scrub. People like you ruined mah Halo!
its funny that people are still mad about being rank checked this many years later
How does making a post similar to those level/arena jokes means I'm mad about my level in Halo 3?
no one ever said anything about you in particular, but hey, guilty conscience and all that, you do you man

:^)
We both know you targeted me becasue I'm the only one in this topic that made a rank based post.
His comment wasn't directed towards you at all, but now you made yourself into a target.
Seens like it was.

He makes a joke about about the rankfags on Halo, then Azuwhateverthefuck makes that passive aggressive comment about how "it's funny people are still mad about being rank checked after all these years".

If anything he's one of those people that took ranks seriously, got offended by Berzerk's post, and that's why e made the passive aggressive comment.
I don't get why people care about their ranks. Especially in games like Halo 3. I used to be one of those a long time ago, but I unfortunately forgot why I saw my rank as important as some reason.
Don't you mean "fortunately"?
Well, I meant more in terms of what made me think that way to begin with.
wat

You said you don't get why people take ranks seriously, implying you find taking ranks seriously as something negative.

That means it wouldn't be an unfortunate thing to forget why you ever took ranks seriously.
No, I'm comparing the act of taking ranks seriously, and then knowing why people take ranks seriously. They're different things. >___>
No they aren't. Either you take ranks seriously, or you don't.
That's not what I'm debating.

I will decide after 15 minutes.

It's an online midterm that I can take at anytime, but I sort of want to get it out of my way sooner. On the other hand, procrastination and memes.

Discuss your current grades right now. I currently have 1 A- and 3 As. And the midterm is for the subject I have an A- in right now.
