Why didn't they fight for her life too?
Cause she was already dead and it was right to let her die with some semblance of dignity.

Nobody has *ever* recovered from being braindead. Ever.

1172
depends on how pregnant she is
Well, if the baby is a small cluster of cells, then the "baby" obviously isn't gonna survive one way or another, and the pregnant woman should just be cut off of life support.

What do I draw if I'm both a filthy yank and a dirty yuropoor?
Dual citizen?

Yar.
I'm also a dual citizen. Which countries are you a dual citizen to?

Norway and America.
Ah, I'm of Greece and the US. (though Greece is a member of the EU so I'm an EU citizen as well LOOOOL)

Norway has conscription as well if I'm not mistaken. How are you going to deal with that problem when it comes. Or have you already resolved that?

I don't live there, so they won't conscript me.
Same thing with Greece, but I had to fill out so many forms, and provide so many documents that I've been living in the US just so I can get my exemption.

It's really that easy where you simply tell the Norwegian Embassy/Consulate that you don't live there and they won't conscript you!? Damn, I wish it were so simple for Greece. You couldn't believe the forms I've had to provide to them. Fucking Christ....

I don't think I even had to tell them. My cousin was conscripted the moment he was out of high school, I've been out close to a year and I haven't heard anything about conscription.
Uh, maybe you should go to your Consulate or Embassy to check up on that. Cause forcibly being scooped up to join the Army if you ever step foot in Norway isn't a pleasant surprise. Especially so since Norway tends to be one of the stricter countries in terms of conscripting.

Eh, I'll cross that bridge when I get to it.

Though that would explain why I was so easily accepted into the Univerty of Oslo's summer school program.

Spoiler
Aw, you're gonna move to Europe a year before me!?

Fuck off mate, you're lucky.

It's only for the summer.
Still though.

Not even the whole summer, just six weeks.
You should stay in Norway forever IMHO. Fuck the US.

I need to get my educaton done first, and learn the language.
Hm, how much Norwegian do you know then? Like in terms of fluency.

I just want to know what you guys would think about this. Since this should be a touchy subject for some of you. Just read an article pretty much about what my second option describes, and the woman was kept alive long enough for the baby to become viable. Once she gave "birth" via C-section, she was nearly immediately taken off of life support.

Yeah, duh.

Spain's official language is Spanish even though they share borders with Portugal and France.
Yet they don't have Portuguese and French immigrants flowing into there en masse, yes?

Immigration in the EU is a far different subject than immigration in the US since they face very different immigration situations and have different immigration policies.
Spanish is still the official language.
>missed the point
Then what's the point?
Spain having Spanish as its official language isn't relevant at all to the US since their situation in immigration isn't anything like the USA's situation in immigration.
Ah, well, the US should change because of the high Mexican in flow?
Well, the US doesn't have any official language to speak of. And there are many immigrants from China, Vietnam, Philippines, and Central America are coming in as well. So US society should become more open to foreigners since there's such a diverse range of immigrants coming in, and trying to assimilate them all into the preestablished American culture would be absolutely hopeless.

cycling is gay af

runners 4 lyfe
Running gives you arthritis later on, is less efficient than cycling, and tires you out quicker after shorter distances. Though trying to climb hills on a bicycle is a nightmare, and even slight inclines forces you to put significantly more energy into pedaling.

Cycling is still better overall.
I actually enjoy cycling too, I was just fucking with you m8. What kind of bike do you have?
Fuji Absolute 3.0

Costs about $400 normally (but I got it on a sale for a bit over $200). It's an amazing bike in every way aside from the fact that it lacks any sort of suspension. Which means that the type of terrain that I can bike on is severely limited (pretty much onto roads and smooth gravel) unless I want to destroy my bike.
No way, I also have a Fuji. I don't exactly remember the exact model because I bought it the summer going into my senior year of high school, so almost two years ago. But it's black and green and looks similar to yours.

Damn just talking about it makes me want to race again
Bicycle racing is something I'm not gonna get into here. Where I live is really hilly, yet my legs have already been morphed into sprinting legs rather than climbing legs. You know how it goes....

Why do you like Imperial Germany so much?

It's not as great as you seem to think it is.

>____>

All the military might, without the genocide. During Bismarck's reign, it was a force for European peace.
Military might really doesn't mean anything. And Europe is more peaceful than ever (despite the Russian-backed war in Ukraine) without any European countries having massive military might.

And Germany during Bismarck's reign wasn't exactly peaceful. They went to war against 2 major powers (Austria-Hungary and France) during that time.. He was smart because only punched at or below his weight, but he certainly wasn't peaceful by any means.

And Imperial Germany's massive procurement of arms contributed greatly to wwI being so devastating since they were trying to topple the UK as Europe's preeminent military power.

I meant that Germany was a force for peace once Bismarck had created it. He started the three wars to create a a unified Germany. Once Bismarck was kicked out by Wilhelm II (dumbass), whose policies helped lead to the outbreak of WWI. If Bismarck had stayed in power this wouldn't have happened. Bismarck warned against making an enemy of the British.

Yeah it's peaceful, but reliant upon the United States for defense. The Russians have so many troops it would stomp Western Europe with numbers alone. They've done it before. The U.S. is the deterrent. But the U.S. could also stand to decrease the budget, which would be easier and less harmful if the nations of Europe (particularly Germany) stopped being so damn afraid of having a strong military and became militarily self-sufficient.
And why did Imperial Germany go to shit once Bismarck was kicked out? It's because Imperialism isn't sustainable or viable in the long term. Every country that colonized Europe, Africa, and/or Asia had to give up all of their significant colonies in those continents for those reasons. And it's also typical in authoritarian/totalitarian states for each of the original leader's successors to become less and less competent over time until the system outright collapses. China is one of the very few countries which has managed that, but that was due to some degree of reform.

In terms of defense, uou're greatly overestimating Russia's military in all honesty. Yes, they're powerful, but the combined military forces of Europe even without US help could stomp Russia's military. All that Russia has is nuclear missiles, and they know it. Which is why they only pick fights with extremely weak countries. Did you see their performance in 2008's war in Georgia? They performed terribly against the Georgian Army (in terms of equipment/men lost) despite the fact that they greatly outnumbered them in everything. And Russia's operations in Ukraine are just limited to Special Forces and Spetsnaz units, so of course they'd look impressive. The Russian Army itself is a fucking mess though.

Bismarck advised against Imperialist policies, and only claimed a couple colonies grudgingly.
If he had remained in power longer, it's quite likely he would have given them up after some time.
What you're saying perfectly fits what I'm saying which is that heirs of authoritarian rulers tend to decrease in competence over time. Even if he had given up his powers, whom would he have given his powers to?

Imperial Germany was pretty much Bismarck, and only someone like him could rule it. Which wouldn't be a problem if humans have infinite lifespans, but we don't unfortunately.

It should be.
French has to be learned in Canada.
>probably living in Quebec
I live in Ontario and had to learn French for the first 10 years of schooling.
Hm, so I take it you're living in a major urban area then.

Sandtrap as we all know, lives in middle of nowhere Saskatchewan where I doubt that there's more than a dozen French speakers, so he won't have to learn it.

All the upsides to living in a Federal country, eh?

Actually about 40-50 mins away from me there's a town called Xenon.

French arcitecture and a completely french speaking community. Population of about 400-600.

But, yes. In British Columbia and Saskatchewan, french was an optional class to take.
Tried looking up Xenon in google earth, and nothing came up.

OMG tell me the name of your city. I want to know which city everyone in this forum lives in AGHHHHH

It's nice.

But I'm too busy feeling dizzy from the 94 degree weather (like 35 in your nigger degrees) to actually enjoy it right now.

I'm five degrees below you in terms of heat. I get heat stroke headaches every day now. You see all those empty fields and trees?

We should still be having temperatures close to or below zero right now. There should still be snow. I think it's going to be a goofy ass year for weather.
Fuck, I can't keep living here where it gets hot like this 5-6 months of the year. Everyone who says that climate change isn't happening should come to where we live and see for themselves.

Do you actually like the cold? Since most people I know who live in areas as cold as yours hate the cold and wish they lived somewhere as hot as where I live. LOL.

Surely, the only two choices for places to live aren't either cold tundra or hot semi-arid... Makes no sense why people can't see that.

I'm flammable as fuck. I've a rather heavy intolerance to heat. My skin burns easy, lukewarm water to other people burns me and heat above 15 degrees really, really slows me down.

The upside to this is, I don't feel shit in -30. -20 is comletely comfortable to me.

But, people will always complain. Turn up the heat and they want cold. Turn down to cold and they want heat. I can't actually think of any place on the planet where there's enough heat to be warm, but a contrasting wind to keep things cool at all times.
Same thing with me. I've always wanted to live somewhere where it's colder. Though having days where it's -30 in Winter is going to be too much for me. Especially so since I'm coming from somewhere where it's so much hotter.

And yeah, people here always complain about the weather. They complain about it being cold when it's like 10 degrees, and I'm just sitting there thinking "the fuck?". And then when it's Summer, they want it to be Winter again!!!!

Bleeeeeeh. People who complain about the weather are annoying. There are more important things to complain about than something like the weather which you can't change in any way (aside from making it hotter).

We ain't even on the fun list of cold to endure comms.

I've been outside in -45 with a windchill on top. Two years ago the bulk of my province reached the coldest temperature it had hit in 60 years.

-45 normally, with the windchill, -62.

I worked outside for an hour in that. Personally, I'm never one to complain about the weather too much. Even though heat gives me heatstroke, dampness closes my lungs up and makes it hard to breathe, and there are days when exposed skin freezes in under two minutes of exposure...

I could be in Nepal right now, dealing with, or being dead in earthquake rubble.
I could be in Mexico and south america with the cartels and drug lords.
I could be in the states with a decaying society that's just on the verge of going total apeshit.
I could be in the UK and have to deal with no rights allowed and trouble with the east.
I could be in the east.
I could be in Africa.

So, I'm here. Freeze my skin, choke my lungs, and burn my skin. I shalln't complain for any form of better weather.
Yeah, exactly. -45 is just a wee bit too much for, well, anyone really...

Anything below -15, and you'd have to be moving there for a pretty freaking special reason (or you're insane). Fun cold just seems like between -5 and 10 from my experiences.

But the real cold days are fun! When there's no wind and the air is still, and it's super damn cold out, suiting up and stepping outside to the contrast feels like wearing a space suit and stepping out into another world.

That being said. It's interesting to me about cold. I know what -50 feels like. It's unique because I can say -50 and you'll say, "Oh golly that's cold."

But you'll never feel it, and never really understand it unless you've lived it.

Imagine the coldest you've ever felt. And imagine that it's so cold that it burns. It stings like knives and then it goes still and flatline.

Frostbite.
Fuck, and there isn't anywhere near me where it gets even remotely near that sort of cold.

I have to just go visit somewhere where it's lime -50 just to know what it feels like, since I've wanted to feel those cold knives sinking into my skin for a long time now. I definitely have the money go to, but do I have the time.
