Serious / Turkey is to ISIS as Pakistan is to al-Qaeda?« on: March 07, 2015, 03:12:14 AM »
If you've been following the Kobane fight closely, you'd be noticing that Turkey has refused to shut off access for ISIS or help the Kurds until every other country was on the verge of declaring them as supporters as ISIS, which in that case, they allowed a small, token force of Peshmerga through their borders into Kobane. Many more stories and sensical (from their perspective......) causes for them to support ISIS.
Here's one such story in particular. http://www.ibtimes.co.uk/isis-turkey-throws-kobane-hero-jail-while-treating-islamist-commander-hospital-1490842 423
Serious / Who is worse? Assad or ISIS?« on: March 06, 2015, 05:58:36 PM »
If you think it is ISIS, I can prove to you that Assad is worse than ISIS in all ways but one. If you doubt my words state why you do so, identify yourself, and you shall be enlightened by the truth! (or my version of the truth )

The Flood / As I fade once again into the abyss of the real world, (BYE BYE FOREVER)« on: December 24, 2014, 04:51:23 AM »
take some time to reflect about what Comms Officer has delivered to you blessed forumers:
>If it were not for me, Anarchy Weekend would have never existed. >If it were not for me getting the proboards nuked, this site would have never taken off as the proboards would likely still be active. >If it were not for me, you would have never had a verti-assault team dispatched to your location. >If it were not for me, there would only be one Greek in the forum rather than two. Think about how much these gifts from me have benefited all of you, and think about the fact that I was the one who created the events which led to the offsite being an active and fun place. And for those of you who aren't aware, I'm gonna be perma'd in 8 hours, and I'm off to bed soon. 429

The Flood / If you want a successful thread, don't post in 'Septagon'« on: December 24, 2014, 02:40:28 AM »
I just did some little calculations with the average amount of responses a thread in each forum gets.
The clear winner is 'News' (due to the extremely limited amount of threads), with an average of 30.44 posts per thread. Then comes 'The Flood' with an average of 22.33 posts per thread. Next, comes Serious with a disappointingly low post count per thread of 21.83. The Gaming board isn't really surprising, given its uninteresting premise. It comes at a whopping total average of 20.58 posts per thread. And then far, far below all of the others, comes the Septagon board. Septagon has a pitiful post per thread count of 11.94. Thoughts about this? 431
Septagon / "Comms Officer ban"« on: December 24, 2014, 01:41:05 AM »
A new type of ban in between Post Ban and Blacklist where you can't access the site, but your posts aren't censored. Pretty much so other users aren't punished by being unable to see others' posts because they got banned. And for exceptional cases such as users like myself who are in a voluntary state of exile.
I think it'd be a good idea to implement. As long as it's called the Comms Officer ban that is. If you're gonna give it any other name, then just scrap my idea right there. Someone may as well quote and post this post within the next 12 hours, so it isn't lost once I'm blacklisted again. 432
Serious / Just a reminder....« on: December 24, 2014, 01:36:23 AM »
...that the Strait of Hormuz is only 30 miles wide, and if the Iranians tried to shut it off with a naval blockade, the US would still be able to effortlessly eliminate the Iranian Navy.

The Flood / Most underwhelming tourist destinations.« on: December 24, 2014, 12:43:33 AM »
Here are 3 from my experiences. All of them were pretty disappointing in presentation.
The Colosseum in Rome. (it's in the middle of dense urban area, and barely any distance separates it from modern buildings) Times Square in New York. (nowhere near as large as it's made out to be, and the scale of the buildings surrounding it underscore its puny size in relation to the rest of the city) Big Ben in London. (not too disappointing itself, but the buildings surrounding it are almost equally as impressive, so you'll spend more time looking at the buildings around it than at Big Ben itself) What are the most underwhelming tourist destinations you guys have visited? 437

Serious thread in non-serious disguise. Who will win this final Mexican standoff?
Spoiler This thread is honestly kind of pointless, since the Iraqi Army will inevitably win out in Iraq, and ISIS + SAA will fall apart in a matter of time. SAA has a lot more time than ISIS though. Or does it? 444

Serious / Islamic State may negotiate their way out of their largest city.« on: December 21, 2014, 09:19:45 PM »
http://basnews.com/en/news/2014/12/21/islamic-state-give-two-conditions-to-leave-mosul/
Mosul is the main base for ISIS in the northern half of Iraq. If they lose Mosul, all they'll really have left is Fallujah, which is just a thorn in Iraq's side. But of course the deal would require them safe passage to Syria. I think the best idea would be to let them leave Mosul, and then bomb them to hell as they're marching to Syria. 450
