Or at least ancient Palmyra, in Syria. So yeah, if IS somehow takes the city, there are going to be a lot of ancient ruins dating from Roman times that will certainly be destroyed by them. What I find incredibly retarded is why the Syrian Government made no effort whatsoever to attempt preserving these ruins, or at least any of the smaller, transportable artifacts by moving them to Damascus or something at least. IS most likely won't take the area, but there will most likely be some degree of battle damage....
