I thought it was 8 players >.>
I was playing it with some friends yesterday and there was only 4 slots in the menu we were in. So I'm not 100% but I think that's the limit.

My xbox account was just called Cheese when I didn't have xbox live. So when I finally connected to it for the first time, it said that gamertag was taken. So naturally I just added on to it.
