Shit, Verb has put more hours into SF than anyone else on this forum and we rag on Capcom all the time (because they deserve it).

I missed that post, my mistake. Even still, nobody's really given reasons for why you should put up with the shit RNG the games have had in the past decade.

I don't mind most Biased/Weighted RNGs in some games because it makes the game more enjoyable; however, I do not play games who's sole design in catered to RNG, hence why I put down Destiny and pretty much every other W-RPG out there.
The problem with the MK series since Double Dash is that they are much too weighted toward projectiles than powerups. Instead of building on technical skills, it ends up turning into a game of "who gets hit by the most red/blue shells."

My biggest gripe is that this move is another step towards making college essential education and ruining the value of a diploma.

This almost feels enlightening in the sense that for the first time on this subject, I completely agree with Verb; there's not much of a point in gold staring the game if you turn off half of the options. If it's there, then it should be played that way even if I go bald because of it.
I agree that a game should almost always be played with the default options but the default options can never please everyone. I always play my games at default as often as possible but I know that I could never play SSB with all items enabled because of how I personally enjoy the game. What I hate is when people say a game is bad because of the default options not being to their liking. If they want to play a game that isn't their style then they shouldn't complain about the game not being to their liking.

Well it's not like he's saying the game's awful, just that he can't understand why people get so pissed at it and keep playing anyway.

mario kart is the worst

like, it's not even fun, because of all its random, unfair bullshit

i don't even get why it's so popular

Tennessee already does that. Took a huge chunk of the money from Hope Scholarship recipients, but they did it to large amounts of foot stomping and the distaste of Uni kids everywhere.

No, I've played Double Dash, and felt the same way.

*shrug*

And 64.

I forgot you were a Nintendo hater. Don't see why I bothered trying.
Verb has (I believe) every Nintendo console in existence and Super Metroid is his favorite game of all time. Verby don't give a shit who published the game, if he doesn't like it, he doesn't like it.

Mario Kart suffers from an intense case of "RNG bullshit". MK8 is just more noticeable because [I think] you have a higher chance of getting a shell, especially a blue one.
i'm surprised you can even tolerate it, when it's basically brawl: racing edition

i mean, i'll play it, if i have company, and i'll have fun with it, but what perplexes me is when people get legitimately upset when they lose/get fucked over

because that's the name of the game
You've probably only played the Wii version of the game. Every other iteration of the game was actually good and didn't feel like random nonsensical shit.

The WiiU version has only 1 BS mechanic and that is the "Crazy 8"  item that gives you everything to win the game except for a blue shell. The Wii on the other hand has some of the most BS items in the game.

Recovery time in the Wii version of the game was ridiculously long and in every other iteration it was just about a second or less. The Wii version takes someone about 4 seconds to be able to move after getting hit which is pretty much a lost game after getting hit in first place.
In pretty much every Mario Kart game since DD you can roll big, fat snake-eyes with the RNG and get completely fucked. It doesn't always happen all at once, but I've seen some fat horseshit in most Mario Kart games.

I think i've had two games of the 60+ games where I got mad at the RNG but really I should have just been mad that I chose to play on the hardest difficulty. If people want to play Mario Kart without items they can do so. They can also choose a more competitive friendly item set too.

I have scars on my knees, but not from any sexual embarrassment. I just had a rude awakening to the fact that I have no balance on longboards.

If I play Mario Kart, generally it's Double Dash. I only get mad at losing in games that reward based on metals/stars. If it's like Gran Turismo or Forza I don't give a shit, none of that really counts to a total. I just don't like not getting that 100% in games where the objective is to beat the highscore.

tfw i had white rice last night
Best part is that you can really mix things up with white rice. You can throw in veggies, eggs, white/red meat, et cetera. Even better, it's healthier than ramen AND cheaper.

Verby pls. Not telling you to stop, because that won't happen, but just take a step back from the computer for a moment and don't let your writing be coated with emotion. Keep your psych clear, yo.

Yeah, it's frustrating, and there's nothing wrong with pointing it out. You're just going about it in a way that doesn't exactly win hearts.

When is he not mad?
A good bit of the time actually. He's just a really dry and sarcastic person, and that type isn't uncommon.

The Bible is a book of allegories, as is the Torah and the Qur'an. The problem comes about when a person reads the events literally, or claims such to further a purpose.
