Faggot, you're the one killing the industry.

Or you could follow Wolfenstein's idea and just do a "it never ended in 1945" scenario.

Serious / Re: Do you believe in a separation between money and power?
« on: January 23, 2015, 02:09:51 PM »
They kind of go hand in hand. Those without money don't have the power to take the power from those with money.

Unless you want to charge a man in a tank with a stick. You can throw as many poor people as you want at a tank but nothing's gonna happen.
Not true, eventually the treads will be gummed with corpse mash and someone will be able to climb onto the tank.

Everything that has DNA shares it with most things. It's like saying broccoli is related to cows because we eat both of them.

You wouldn't be sleeping anymore if a centipede was crawling up your nose.

« on: January 23, 2015, 07:56:20 AM »
I don't think just ideas get you on a shitlist, it's the capability to act out those ideas. I've probably said some things in the past that wouldn't make a government agent happy, but it would take a very short amount of time to show that I have no drive to act on them.

Well, you see, the problem with viewing actual hardcore CP is that in order for that image to exist, there had to have been an actual child being fucked. That's just not cool.
I expected a joke about playground pickup lines, instead I got a serious post. The fuck Das, get your shit together.
well I can't make jokes 100% of the time, I mean, then people might actually start to think I love little girls that aren't 2010 Chloe Moretz
You and half of /b/.

The Flood / Re: People who blow smoke out of their nose...
« on: January 22, 2015, 09:15:11 PM »
Blowing smoke through your nose dries it out really badly. Can require corrective surgery if done too often, and not blowing smoke through your nose sounds a lot cheaper than surgery to fix your nose.

I'd like to say I'd steal a lot of shit from Gamestop, but to be honest I probably wouldn't do anything. Well, maybe pirate everything, but nobody would probably arrest me for doing that in the first place.

The last one was probably the stupidest thing out of them, not because of some negative reaction to it, but because it was abusing a pharmaceutical.
May I ask when the last time you used was?
Almost 8 months for syrup, two weeks for pot, and two months for alcohol.

Serious / Re: has anyone on this site had problems with substance abuse?
« on: January 22, 2015, 10:25:48 AM »
I've never really had an addiction in the sense that I just had to have it, but then again I've never done anything outside occasional alcohol, pot, or cough syrup. The last one was probably the stupidest thing out of them, not because of some negative reaction to it, but because it was abusing a pharmaceutical.

The Flood / Re: Whats wrong with being a "dudebro"?
« on: January 21, 2015, 05:37:00 PM »
Well I wouldn't bother with it now. It's impossible to play online at this point. The only people who play it have played it for over a decade and are stupid good at it.
Even the sequels?
Quake Live has been out half a decade now, and while SF4 beats it by a few years, it doesn't have nearly the same amount of newb-friendliness. Quake is unforgiving, and while that's nice for the core players, it doesn't promote growth.

Well, you'd think I'd have played it, because of the whole Trent-Reznor-did-the-soundtrack thing.

Doesn't surprise me Verb. I'd describe it as the Guilty Gear of FPS games, or at least I would Arena/Live.

I couldn't really get into New Leaf for some reason or another. It's not that I just "grew out of it" either, because Wild World is still fun.

It would be nice to see shitposts with literally no discussion value be axed.

Just posting a picture with a "lol" or something isn't really worth anyone's time.

FPS and Sports are the dudebro games of choice, yes. That doesn't mean that there aren't non-dudebro games in the audience; I wouldn't exactly call Quake or DDR  dudebro games.
Sure, but I think that's just because they're all... old, and... out of style. If Quake saw a resurgence, I could see it regressing to that label. Maybe.
Just Dance, for a more recent example, isn't a dudebro game. Neither is Tribes: Ascend (although it did attract a lot of memester idjits).

Simple/casual shooters with "deep" (like a bathtub) mechanics are the defining factors of dudebro games. Halo fits it, as does Battlefield, and CoD. Quake has a 90* learning curve, it's too "hardcore" to be a dudebro game. Quake Live even got a small resurgence a few months back, and it quickly died again because the new players left after getting their asses handed to them with a 0% success rate.

The moderation is just a tad bit too lenient on funposting threads. I mostly ignore them, but it's a chore to sift through dozens of spam threads to find something interesting.

I would, at least for the most part.
And CoD, and Battlefield. Really, FPS is the dudebro genre, next to sports. That's actually the biggest factor as to why I hate them so much.

There's nothing wrong with being a dudebro, it's just one of many kinds of "gamer". It's just that dudebro games don't have much of an appeal outside that audience, so the games are often criticized for those elements by everyone else.

EA sports games are still shit tho.
You don't consider Halo a dudebro game?
I would, at least for the most part.

Legal action? That's my jam.
So will you defend Cheat and deny a suffering man his vengeance, or will you prosecute Cheat and bilk all his totally-not-ad revenue like a scumbag jew?
