If only I had a phone that could run it ;-;
Bluestacks.

Nothing unfortunate about it, actually.

the only thing that's unfortunate is that people who emulate games don't immediately explode and die afterwards
Shit happens. Gameboy dies one day, can't play pokemans until you get another one. Or, you're out in your day and didn't want to lug around extra equipment or didn't feel like planning out which video games you'd want to spontaneously play.

Make no mistake, emulating is no replacement for the real thing. It's "acceptable" use.

Spoiler
No Verb, not acceptable as in "okay to do", acceptable like the item condition when you're buying off of Ebay/Amazon. It's cheeto smudged, missing the label, the battery is almost dead, but the game works.

8313
Or you can emulate anything pre-DS and just buy yourself a 3DS.

Emulate anything that came out before Diamond and Pearl (FireRed/LeafGreen/Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald).
What is an emulator and what does it do?
It's a downloadable program for your PC that allows you to emulate a game's ROM for free.

It's stealing.
As in, illegal.
As in, bad.

Don't do it if you have any self-respect.
It's not illegal to play a ROM of a game you own, IIRC. That's the reason that site for ROM downloads wasn't immediately nuked.
Yeah pretty much, since you can theoretically make your own ROM without much of an issue playing a ROM of a game you already own is fine.

I used to play pokemon emulators when I'd lost the cartridges, I could have easily downloaded the ROMs for the most recent 3DS games at the time too, but I don't think that's right (nor is it legal) given that I didn't own them myself. Now that I do, I could but I'd rather play them on the 3DS anyway <.<

But yeah, emulators aren't inherently wrong at all.
If you are using them to avoid paying for content, then yeah that's obviously bad.
Unfortunately, due to Nintendo policy, it's still a big fat no no.

From Nintendo's corporate information page:
Spoiler
There is a good deal of misinformation on the Internet regarding the backup/archival copy exception. It is not a "second copy" rule and is often mistakenly cited for the proposition that if you have one lawful copy of a copyrighted work, you are entitled to have a second copy of the copyrighted work even if that second copy is an infringing copy. The backup/archival copy exception is a very narrow limitation relating to a copy being made by the rightful owner of an authentic game to ensure he or she has one in the event of damage or destruction of the authentic. Therefore, whether you have an authentic game or not, or whether you have possession of a Nintendo ROM for a limited amount of time, i.e. 24 hours, it is illegal to download and play a Nintendo ROM from the Internet.
So no, it is still very much illegal to own and use Nintendo ROMs. Emulators themselves are a grey area, and you won't get in trouble for having them. But ROMs are clearly labeled within copyrighted domain.

I think the experiment shows that beating real-time games via group play cannot be done without severe handicapping.

Here you go Chakas, a tutorial.
YouTube

Is it just me or is his voice hardly audible?
Unnecessary music drowns him out, yes.

Base building. Ground Zeros/Peacewalker, Suikoden games, XCOM games, Fallout 4.
and lbp

I dunno if I'd call it underrated, though. People seem to be going apeshit over base-building in Fallout 4, aren't they?...
(Rightfully so. I love base-building.)
I meant in terms of application. Not a ton of games offer it, or really offer it to the extent that it's worthwhile.

Spoiler
Fuck you Dragon Age: Awakening

Sudoku.

I'd argue that it would be better to but a system and get each game as you complete the previous, just because playing it through an emulator just isn't the same experience as playing the real deal.
But I don't got no moneys
Gameboy off of Ebay/craigslist. How many hours would you expect to put in per day?

8322
Well wind farms aren't exactly sustainable anyway so it kind of is a legitimate argument.
Elaborate.

They're hard (expensive) to get new
On Amazon, you can get FireRed for $30 and Crystal for $25. They aren't that expensive, especially in comparison to other Nintendo games.
To be fair, he said "new". But, as I illustrated, that doesn't matter to me anyway.
Only point in buying new is for collectors. Earthbound is over $600 new, for example, whereas a used copy is a sixth of the price. If you just plan on getting the game for playing, there is literally nothing wrong with used copies.

Civilization Revolution. Great game if you want a match that lasts three hours instead of three weeks.

How about everybody being tolerant and acting respectful to each other? I like that idea.

That will never happen and you know it.
It's not like I'm asking for people to like each other, but I'd settle for not being frozen asshole globs over issues that matter to a lot of people. You know, basic human decency is appreciated.

That will never happen and you know it.
Mob mentalities will never end, you're absolutely correct about that; it's a flaw of human nature. But there's nothing stopping individuals from being decent. Maybe I'm ignorant and that's already happening; in which case, it's the fault of our news for catering to entertainment and sensationalism instead of information.

I'd rather it not be essential for a decent shot at a good life in the first place. Making it free is a temporary solution and won't fix anything in the long run.

I'm just going to say lolis because that seems less weird than what I was going to say.
Lactating shotas?
I think I can actually say that this is a concept that I've never thought of before.

Thanks, babe.
Thank Sad Panda for having the most underground fetish material frequently appear on its front page.
One of these days I'll quit being lazy and actually get past the panda.
You can literally download a workaround plugin off of the Chrome and Firefox app stores.

Because THE BABY killed the franchise, and currently they are unwilling to commit to reviving it due to the backlash over MPFF, the Wii U being the broccoli of consoles, and already working on multiple games plus a new console.
