Water, but I really need some honey whisky. Throat is raw as hell.
no you don't
Honey whiskey works better than just honey. Besides, all I'd use is a small tea cup of the stuff. Water hasn't helped at all, which is my first/second/third choice for solving a sore throat.

MacBeth dies at the end.
it would be more appropriate to spoil who lived, tbh
Macduff, Malcolm, Donalbain, the witches, and Siward. Miss anybody important?

So all of us agree that the rules need to be applied more consistently. Everyone seems to be "for" increasing the length of punishments, but that varies anywhere from three days to a month. The topic of repeat offenders seems split between continuing the current progression (increasingly long ban times) and a permaban after x amount of bans (no decided number given, other than comparing it to baseball).
Overall, the rules need to be revisited on three accounts: consistency in application, consistency in severity of punishment, and finding other loop/holes that haven't been discovered yet.
This post seemed to be positively received, so I'll use it for my "one" post.

What I can reveal was that Movies are slated to have a spoiler-free window of about two weeks, while Games will be closer to a month. Because it's generally easier (and cheaper) to go see a movie than it is to purchase and play a game all the way through?
That, and I assume the window of availability that movies are in theaters for typically. You can buy brand new copies of games four months after release; you can see a movie in theaters for half that time period if you're lucky. EDIT: Off the mark, but I'm headcanoning it.

I didn't even want to give Verb the level names since they generally provide a snippet of what the level is about. And I don't even fucking like Halo anymore.

in the future, i expect all of you to bitch about future games being spoiled if the rules change on this, not over MGSV only
Of course, and I expect you to hold me to that if I don't.

I mean, it's not like there are Gaming specific rules in the first place. Why make it a rule there and leave the spoiler rules unenforced elsewhere?

Naru does make a point; I'd further extend it to media in general, though. If someone posts leaked spoilers from the Walking Dead, or the next Marvel movie, or the next Neptunia game: it doesn't matter. Spoilers are spoilers, and you can't reasonably provide favoritism in the rules when one of the core problems at the moment is the lack of consistent application.

I appreciate the thought, though.
Perhaps in just an advisory capacity, then.
Also, what do you prefer I call you? Prime Snake? CIA?
I'm pretty consistent with the Prime part of my name, so let's go with that. Aria works too.

Prime Snake for mod.
Not every case is a murder case. It's easier to draw lines and make decisions in situations like these, but in the average day-to-day moderation? Past events have made it plenty clear to myself that I don't handle them well. I appreciate the thought, though.

A temporary solution is to use spoiler text on top of the pre-existing youtube spoiler. But that definitely needs to be fixed, it's impossible to browse video threads in the current state.

In general, I think a 24 hour ban should be limited to forced cool-off time for people who are getting overtly temperamental in a discussion and refuse to calm down after moderator requests. A 3-day minimum on bans just seems to be a good balance between punishment and the need for activity.
Coup style. I like it.
I like to think that Coup moderation was based around good ideas but weighed down by incredibly vague rules.

Like, for how many months after MGS5 is released should spoilers be punishable?
3 months seems reasonable to me.
I originally said 3 weeks but maybe that would be for more severe punishments.
Ideally, the punishment starts off more severe the closer we are to release date.
Layering timeframes for different punishments is a little over-complicated, don't you think? Ideally, it should be a strict "x days minimum" with punishment length increasing with successive bans. This, of course, all takes place within the time frame of whatever is considered "spoiler free".

I just saw that you and Cheat were talking about 4-6 months as a punishment on the first page, which got me freaked out.
We covered that confusion a few pages back; they were talking about the time in which punishment is enforced for something, not the length of the punishment itself. Like, for how many months after MGS5 is released should spoilers be punishable?

I'd agree with harsher punishments. Not inflating to months of ban-time for a first offense, but breaking rules intentionally with malicious intent is inherently worth more than a 24 hour ban. I'd suggest making more offenses a 3-day minimum, that sounds like a good start.
Another issue this brings up is that we still need to look into revising and adding to the current rules. This specific instance really highlights the fact that there are shockingly large gaps in the ones we have now.

you know gaming is going to shit when you start browsing the flood for less autism and fuckery
I am 99% sure that, way back when you first invited me to Sep7agon, you specifically told me to stay away from Gaming because of how autistic the posting was. It's not getting worse; it just got better for a little bit. Nothing gold can stay, Ponyboy.

343's interpretation of the Halo universe is more Soft Sci-fi than Bungie's was. Not to say that Bungie's could be considered Hard Sci-fi, but 343's is just softer.

Looks okay. Linda and Kelly helmets are still cringe though.
umm, kelly's helmet is great though
linda's is hilarious though
It's hilarious if you understand how structural integrity work.
Are you referring to the square-cut lines in her visor severely undercutting the pressure her helmet could take before cracking? That and the unnecessarily bulbous shape.

You're awfully aggressive for someone with poor reading comprehension. He's saying that it's not difficult to beat the entire game in a day, much less one level; this insinuates that proclaiming "I can beat that level in less than a day" is a confusingly odd thing to brag about.
